Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak? Confess (2015) The Hopeless series is quite short, constituting two books and a novella. The novels tend to attract very strong reactions. The majority of reader seem to enjoy them very enthusiastically and they would give life and limb to defend the quality of what they consider to be Hoover’s most impressive series. Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.

A continuation of the Hopeless trilogy, this free novella begins with a chance encounter between two teenagers who pretend to fall in love but only for one hour. When the hour is up, one of the pretend lovers is left to wonder if those moments of fake love were real. Fast forward one year, Daniel meets a strange girl named Six who forces him to believe in love at first sight. The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. But if anyone were to discover how Ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them. It should be noted well that infertility and adoption are very sensitive topics. Not all adoptions will have a happy ending or adoptive parents who are so good to the biological parents. In fact, the way this story plays out is a bit of a reach, so I would never want this book to give readers false hope about this sensitive topic. Sky is seventeen-years-old and she doesn’t believe in happy endings. She thinks that they can only exist in fairy tales. Her beliefs are challenged when she meets Dean Holder, the first boy to ever make her feel.Colleen Hoover is the New York Times bestselling author of multiple novels and novellas, specialising in young adult fiction and romance.Colleen Hoover books have massively surged in popularity recentlydue to attention from the #BookTokcommunity onTikTok. In Losing Hope, Holder reveals the way in which the events of Sky’s youth affected him and his family, leading him to seek his own redemption in the act of saving her. But it is only in loving Sky that he can finally begin to heal himself. Finding Cinderella (A Novella) (2013) But one horrible day, Sky uncovers things that Holder has hidden from her. Holder, his twin Lesslie and Sky knew each other when they were kids, but when Sky was five, she was kidnapped, and had never been found. And her real name was Hope, not Sky. Sky & Holder travel to Austin to see her old house, and Sky realises that she had been sexually abused by her father, but had repressed the memories. They meet her father, who admits to having abused Lesslie and his sister too in a similar manner. After his confession, he kills himself. Holder & Sky return home, and confront Karen, who confesses to kidnapping Sky when she was 5, because she knew she was being sexually abused by her father. How? Karen is Sky’s aunt. Karen is ready to hand herself over to the police, but Sky forgives her, and Holder too, and everyone lives happily ever after. What happened in Hopeless? Regretting You follows a young mother, Morgan, and her teenage daughter Clara. Morgan is determined to keep Clara from making the same mistakes she did, getting married and pregnant far too young, and Clara basically thinks her mom is uncool. The two must learn to coexist when Chris, their husband and father respectively, suddenly and mysteriously dies.

At home, Karen confesses everything to Sky, and says she’s her aunt, which is how she knew what Hope had been going through. She couldn’t stand to watch her brother spoil another life, and so she took her away. She offers to turn herself in, but Sky sees the real reason why she did it, andthanks her for saving her. One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in love-at-first-sight is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Unfortunately for Daniel, finding true love doesn’t guarantee a happily ever after . . . it only further threatens it. I stand up and look down at the bed, holding my breath in fear of the sounds that are escalating from deep within my throat.Think of Finding Perfect as a thread that ties multiple Hoover titles together. A sequel novella to Finding Cinderella, a continuation of the All Your Perfects story, and the final iteration of the Hopeless series , Finding Perfect revives the story from the perspective of Daniel, following his relationship with Six and their eventual heartbreak. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they’re both drawn to sad things. Which means they’re drawn to each other. Soon, Sydney finds herself captivated by her mysterious and attractive neighbor, Ridge. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. They soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one. Maybe Not – A Novella (2014) The most appealing aspect of the Hopeless series is the effort it takes to explore and develop its protagonists. Sky doesn’t fit the mold of the average romance genre heroine. So when she meets Dean and he makes her heart skip a beat, readers are ready and willing to forgive the instant love trope that so many other young adult novels have worn out. She has never felt her stomach dance with butterflies and she doesn’t what it means to swoon at the sight of a guy. And whenever she finds herself in the arms of her crushes, the boys whose looks are appealing enough that she takes no issue with kisisng them, Sky only ever feels numb.

The final books in the series expand the story to include others in their friend group. How Many Books are in the Hopeless Series?Sky is a decent student. She has great friends and she gets along with her classmates. Sky is also attractive enough that she has no trouble drawing boys to her bedroom. However, none of them has ever made her feel the all-consuming emotion of love and desire that so many fairy tales and romance novels narrate.

This book follows Sky, a sheltered former foster child who is entering public school for her senior year after being homeschooled her whole life, and Holder, the brooding bad boy who seems to have a secretive past. Merit Voss collects trophies she hasn’t earned and secrets her family forces her to keep. While browsing the local antiques shop for her next trophy, she finds Sagan. His wit and unapologetic idealism disarm and spark renewed life into her—until she discovers that he’s completely unavailable. Merit retreats deeper into herself, watching her family from the sidelines, when she learns a secret that no trophy in the world can fix. The sequel to Hopeless, Losing Hope unravels Dean’s guilt-ridden past and his early childhood encounters with a troubled Sky.

How did it end?

The story opens with Sky and Six ushering boys into their rooms for a make-out session that soon turns sour, with the boys turned out, and the girls pigging out on ice cream. It is the day before Sky starts her senior year at the high school after years of being home schooled. But she’ll have to tough it out alone, since Six is leaving on a student exchange program to Italy. Only a select few readers have anything negative to say about the Hopeless series. But their disregard for the novels is quite strong. So it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that there is no real middle ground with the Hopeless stories. As a result, she has since come to the realization that love is little more than a fairytale. Either that or she was never meant to feel emotion on that spectrum.
