take much for me to get excited about a new Amouage release but Lucas (Chemist in the Bottle) did his part and so did Sheila (The Alembicated Genie). I's fun to spray a new scent, smell, then read other peoples experiences and then go back and smell again. at the beginning it comes on like a meek, quiet lemon-floral scent, and then 3-4 hours in, the cedar and fruitiness kick in. As for Beloved Man, I really hope you get an experience closer to mine and not what others got, as I think my version was much more enjoyable than pencil shavings or some of the other things recounted. I'm my opinion, without a real reason, and by comparing it, or describing it in way that makes me go and say: are we smelling the same thing, or and forgive my arroganse: where is you olfactory sanse?As a whole, Beloved’s opening is a mix of opposites: crisp, chilled citruses with warm, creamy sweetness; dark smokiness with light, fresh cleanness; and, later, dryness with almost custardy smooth richness. Beloved lingers on as a gauzy, discreet whisper until it finally dies away as a hint of dry creaminess. This fragrance is min one of the top 5 Amouage that are out there right now as this one comes across special, light and not intrusive to the others. I found this accord in JPG's Le Male too surprisingly which also smells like urinal cake detergent to me, and people seem to love Le Male too and I'm alone in disliking).

In all cases, Beloved would work really well as a discrete fragrance that is practical and versatile for every day use. The blend of notes comes together masterfully to create a luxurious scent, as should be expected from Amouage. Beloved Man has that little bit of "something" which pegs it as a Middle East adaptation of a Western style, so it is still a shade more "exotic" to the domesticated nose than all the rest, but is still a formidable if late entry into this style.If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Beloved Man is classy, clean, woody masculine, a little sweet, performs well, and projects moderately. Unfortunately what turns me off to it slightly is the "stinky fruit" or "stale fruit" effect that I receive from it. It's all a pretty seamless blend, though this one doesn't last as long as its more eccentric Amouagian predecessors. It is very powdery and woody, it smells like if Versace the dreamer had a love child with lalique encre noir l'xtreme.
