Some discreet bike AirTag mounts conceal AirTag within the bike, whilst others disguise the AirTag as something else altogether. Other options, such as putting it in the frame, under the saddle, or in the stem cap, can reduce the AirTag signal, and again rely on a potential thief not knowing they're there. Since there are more than a billion Apple devices in circulation around the world, lost (or stolen) AirTags can be easily tracked down. This mounting system utilises the rails of your saddle for the most OEM hassle free mounting experience. It still tracked in the same way and I could pick it up from my bike shed when I was inside, and when I tested by riding around and tracking it from a different phone I had similar results to a ‘naked’ AirTag.

Putting the AirTag into the mount is simple – you just take a sort of ring off the back of the mount, place the AirTag inside and replace the ring. The opportunist, who will sell a bike worth thousands for a few hundred quid just to make a quick sale, and the well-oiled operations that make a living off stealing bikes. They have actually allowed 3rd-parties to produce their own tags which use the network (still require an iPhone though! but I found that the Maco didn’t tighten enough to secure it firmly in place, so I added a small strip of rubber padding underneath the Maco’s spacer, securing it in place. We posted the bike-specific OMNI TRKR a while back, but it appears that it didn’t get proper Kickstarter funding. Products that contain small parts may pose a choking hazard and should not be used by children under 3.
