Every year, roughly 400 million tennis balls and 125 million tennis cans end up in ladfills around the world, which is a pretty crazy amount of waste. Naturally, since the balls aren’t pressurised, we’d expect the bounce and performance to remain pretty much the same as there should be no pressure loss over time.

Overall, we noticed very little difference to the way they play other than the fact they seemed to keep their performance for longer. Following the Government announcement on Wednesday 8th December, England will move to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant. The development process included an extensive playtest with athletes and retail partners which resulted in very positive feedback. According to Wilson, they are 4 times more durable than regular pressurised tennis balls and it’s hard to argue otherwise.

I don’t know If Wilson has used a more heavy-duty felt on this ball, but durability-wise, this ball really delivers. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, you should self-isolate for at least 10 daysfrom when they start, and arrange to get tested. And if that wasn’t enough to convince you, Wilson are also giving back 5% of their profits from the Wilson Triniti to support worldwide sustainability . Following the rise in Covid cases in the West Midlands, the government has announced the move into Tier 4 for our region. Now in 2021: Wilson is introducing Triniti Pro with the aim to deliver an even better experience for competitive players. The blend of the core material and flexible felt allows this ball to maintain its characteristics outside of a pressurized can. It was critical to have a felt that lasted as long as Triniti’s patented Engage Core, so we designed a special felt for this special ball. The first strokes with the ball reveal a little bit different sound and feel at impact with the strings. As a much more durable ball, we definitely managed to get a lot more play out of these balls compared to regular pressurised balls.

Table tennis indoors to re-start for children under the age of 18 and Disabled People in bubbles of up to 15. However, our main interest was in seeing how the Wilson Triniti played the second time around, a few days later. They feel ever so slightly softer than regular tennis balls, though it doesn’t seem to make any noticeable difference to how it bounces. With the current focus on the environment, Wilson has produced something that will cause a lot less unnecessary waste from the tennis industry. Here in Sweden, a lot of the pressurized balls are used many more times in the club’s everyday practice and they are used so many times that the felt almost start to wear off completely from the rubber. On an annual basis, an estimated 400 million tennis balls and 125 million tennis ball cans are purchased and discarded, adding to landfills and other environmental challenges. According to the ITF’s list of approved tennis balls, this a medium speed tennis ball, much like the Wilson US Open which the Triniti was modelled on. The result is the Wilson Triniti, the world’s first, eco-conscious that performs like a high performance tennis ball that lasts 4 times longer and is encased in a 100% sustainable paper sleeve. The new STR felt also seems to last a little longer, which keeps the overall performance of the ball more consistent. The result is a ball that lasts four times longer than conventional tennis balls and maintains a more consistent bounce for longer.

Wilson have used STR felt which is apparently 50% more flexible than the felt on other tennis balls. For a fast-playing pro player with heavy spin, I presume this ball will take some time to adapt to, but for almost every other player, this ball will be a really good ball to use in both matches and practice. When we hit with them, they definitely seemed to wear down less and they maintained a consistent bounce for much longer. Triniti integrates a low-density plastomer into the ball core’s rubber compound to help maintain fresh ball feel 4x longer than a standard core and deliver desirable playing characteristics without the usual amount of pressure. Play for adults indoors not yet permitted, unless with someone from your own household or support bubble.Tennis in Birmingham areproud to be working in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Tennis for Freeand Active Parksto provide more opportunities across the city for anyone to be able to take part – whether you want to play for the first time, get back to tennis, get a bit fitter, socialise with friends, find new friends, involve the whole family or get some ‘me’ time! To view the purposes they believe they have legitimate interest for, or to object to this data processing use the vendor list link below. General feedback is that the ball has a high and consistent bounce, is comfortable and feels great coming off the strings. You may choose to take a lateral flow test before being in close contact and also encourage those people you are meeting with to do so, which will help to manage periods of risk. While not necessarily the cheapest balls on the market, they are a lot more durable than regular tennis balls and you’ll get a lot more play out of them, specially at a recreational level.
