It is only then that Paul discovers the truth about the man who saved him and some of the more sinister things that he’s done. Twisted is one of those thrillers that the less you know of the story beforehand, the more thrilling the ride. I always think I’m going to be able to figure-out the ending, and outsmart him, but once again, he gets me - like always!

Once he began writing he quickly realized just how good the likes of Child and Connolly were as compared to him. Maria has assuaged her inner need for human connection by taking a lover, Daryl, an impoverished country club instructor and waiter.A masterpiece in thriller plotting - twists and turns at a ferocious pace, leading to a nail-biting conclusion. This is a story of a rising body count in murders, of characters that are nothing as they appear, unreliable memories, and two authors in the process of writing their latest books, one a murderous predator, the other trying merely to survive. Cavanagh uses his strong characters and dialogue to pull the reader in, mixing short and longer chapters to create sustained interest. The title Twisted is perfect for this book as this is a very twisted and disturbing thriller, that had me gripped.

While Maria’s in a coma, Paul has fled out to sea and is rescued from near death by a mysterious fisherman, who helps him recover back on shore. Last Updated on December 11, 2019 Steve Cavanagh is an Irish thriller author whom I first heard about through his work with Mark Dawson on one of their Group Fifteen novellas (namely Scorpion), published 2017. The Defence” is the thrilling debut by Steve Cavanagh that shows that the truth may not matter in a trial and that in some instance it may not even have a place in the courtroom. The book is aptly named “Twisted” because just when you think you have a grasp on what is going on and you believe you know who J. As a result, I found myself not caring at all about what happened to the people I was reading about.I can’t wait to read more of his thrillers, and with my birthday coming up this month, Steve Cavanagh books are top of my list. In his latest book, Thirteen, Steve Cavanagh touches on the lives of celebrities in Hollywood: the movie stars, fixers, gossip, politics, and the glamorous world overall.

After a hiatus of more than 15 years he got back to writing determined to become a published author. Furthermore, even though he had a better understanding of UK law, setting his novels in the UK was out of the question given the dual system of representation that would have necessitated two lead characters. Thank you for reading my review of Twisted by Steve Cavanagh, if you like the sound of this book then please also see my review of Thirteen which I reviewed last year. This case resulted in a landmark damages ruling, and it made Steve Cavanagh quite famous all over again. The British way is much slower, so the books can’t take place there, especially since there is the dual system of representation (solicitor and barristers) which doesn’t exist in the US, which would have needed the addition of a second main character that the author didn’t want to introduce into the story.
