literally why would you introduce like twenty-six (i didn't actually count) new characters and not even give them proper personalities or backstories. Isaac and his friends are all unique enough to connect with a diverse reading audience, but none of them have the staying power that Thomas and his crew of Gladers had. Thomas becomes an object of reverence, suspicion, and great curiosity to the Gladers due to his ties to all of the strange happenings in the Glade, fueled greatly after he becomes the first to survive a night inside the Maze.

But the descendants have continued on and now there is a new set of teens who will be thrown into the mainland and changes the people living there have undergone. Nothing happened for the first half, and then everything happened a little too quickly to make much sense. This is more of a wartime tale of broken families, inspired youths, and higher powers using people as pawns.when the mixed company of a mainland stranger and Glader-descendent islanders had supposedly HALF A MONTH to mingle.

At this point James Dashner is just utterly desperate to milk the now-expired success of the Maze Runner series for all its worth. This is a good foundation book for some revelations in the rest of the series and I hope Dashner sorts out his characters a little more to make sure they aren't just cut outs of the characters from the original series. The story didn't seem to accomplish much and merely focused on how she has to calm herself down when she talks to him bla bla bla, but its not very clear why she is even scared in the first place. When/if the next book is published, I might read it just to see if this was just a weak start to a series, but I’ll definitely not be counting down the days until it’s published, and I’ll probably even wait for the book to arrive at my library so I don’t have to pay for it.A proposito dell'isola, aspettavo con ansia di avere questo libro tra le mani anche per sapere cosa fosse successo ai sopravvissuti della prima trilogia, cosa fosse accaduto loro durante gli ultimi 73 anni, come fossero andate le loro vite, e invece non si sa niente, se non un paio di cose.

Crank Palace is all about Newt, when he is stuck without friends and in an imaginary world of a disease that makes people go crazy as well as killing them. Although some of what “Runner” great exist in “Cutter” (such as the maze, which is now rundown, The Cranks and even the ‘Munies’), this story lacks the incredibly relatable characters that attracted readers in Dashner’s first “Maze” novel. The original survivors of the Maze runner trilogy escaped to an Island to thrive and have new generations.The characters just seemed very two-dimensional on the surface (except for Minho and Roxie, I really wish the entire book would've been about them), and then to have almost no connection to the other characters that I loved from The Maze Runner, I don't know, I just wasn't interested in their story.

From what I could understand, her and two others have styled themselves as gods but there is some truth to her claim because the Flare has somehow given them superhuman powers and longevity.

Mingho has the best development coming out of his cult to find Roxy who treats him like a son and helps to make him more human. I do want to note that these are only book I myself have read, so by all means, suggest others in the comments if you have them! jdashner wouldn't be himself if he didn't drag Newt's stale corpse through the dust and his name through dirt.
