THIS IS THE ONE! The Seiko 5 was actually first released by the brand in 1963. I’ve tried a few times but I can never seem to get it to line up with the chapter ring. Looks like Seiko had ideas to troll us and decided to preserve one of the SKX’s more… notable traits. The mechanism within the watch is 4R36 automatic movementwhich is built in house and the calibre is comprised of 24 Jewelsand a 41 hour power reserve. While legibility is beyond reproach on this watch, for the sake of clarity and reading accuracy, the seconds hand should feature a more traditional lollipop, on the proper end, so when you’re reading the watch in the deep recesses of your parents basement after a 12-hour Fortnite marathon, you’ll be able to tell exactly what time it is, without confusion—or math.

The bracelet is solid and feels rather robust, but naturally, at this price point, you can expect some rattle. Bezel You see, I’ve always tended toward cleaner watches, even with my divers (like my Mido Ocean Star and Omega SMP 2254.50, the latter which I’ve described as a ‘dress diver’). So how could I have been so surprised when the new, fixed-bezel Seiko 5 SRPE51 came along? How did I not anticipate the love? When purchasing a watch which has a metal bracelet with adjustable links, we will gladly adjust the watch bracelet to fit your wrist before sending the watch to you - free of charge!

As a dive watch, it has a unidirectional rotating bezel. Specifically, the srpd51k1 has a blue aluminum bezel insert. One thing: I really fail to see how the Omega SMP 2254.50 is a clean diver. IMHO it’s louder than an SKX in terms of design and styling. Only the thinness of the case make it suitable as a dress diver.
