The downside is the codecs: these use SBC, the least good kind of Bluetooth audio; there's no support for aptX, LDAC or the like. However, they're perfectly good for audiobooks and podcasts, and while they might not be as clearly musical as their more expensive rivals they're not bad either. I’ve always been quite sceptical about entry-level TWS earphones, but the QCY T13 do bring something new to the table. The biggest downside here is the battery life. While you can get 16 hours of noise cancelling when you use the charging case, the earbuds themselves are only good for four hours of listening with ANC on. Otherwise, everything else about these earbuds is excellent, and the price is good too. These are the key to both great ANC/transparency and great phone calls. But don’t assume that just because a set of earbuds has two, four, six, or even eight microphones, that ANC and calling will be awesome — much depends on the way the mics are oriented, amplified, and the signal processing that the earbuds employ. This means that, aside from comfort and an arguably better-looking design, there’s nothing new that true wireless earbuds bring to the table. Conversely, aside from the high price and sad battery life, there’s nothing they subtract from the regular wireless earbuds experience either. The majority of true wireless earbuds have touch-sensitive controls because it makes it easier to do things like waterproofing. But while some touch controls are highly responsive, many can be difficult to use. Unless a reviewer has indicated that a model’s touch controls are good, you may want to consider models that use physical buttons instead, like the Beats Studio Buds, Jabra Elite 7 Pro, or Master & Dynamic MW08.
