These tokens are ok. I never really found myself trading and negotiating that much when I played. There is very little incentive to help your opponents as you’re basically helping them beat you. I’m happy they are here though as it does give you that extra option to help get out of a tight spot you find yourself in. The 45 new Market cards add some interesting new items. In addition to the six new ships, there are new bounties featuring some of the original playable characters. The Cargo additions include passengers you must transport to systems as well as some items which require two destinations. For example, if you choose to get the Blaster Parts, you must deliver them to Cantonica. After rotating the card, you then take the assembled Blasters to Ryloth. There are also more cards for Jobs, Mods & Gear, and Luxury items. In addition to more encounter cards for each system, there are now encounter cards for the core. Image by Michael Knight. The first game in the newly-rebranded Terrinoth Legends universe, Descent: Legends of the Dark is the largest single project ever produced by Fantasy Flight Games. And it’s just getting started! Titled Unfinished Business, the upcoming expansion for the Star Wars board game was announced in a very - and I mean very - short teaser trailer at the end of Fantasy Flight Games’ In-Flight Report stream during Gen Con Online 2021. This, of course, just scratches the surface of the new content and new means of player interaction added to Star Wars: Outer Rim with this expansion. You can look forward to new ships, new jobs, new market cards, new encounters, and an expanded single-player mode as well! New Ways to Play

If I had to complain about something, it would be the amount of table space this game requires. I have a long IKEA table and it took a good chunk of space on it. My recommendation is to play this on a round table. It will work far better. This is my only complaint and honestly, it’s probably my fault for not having a variety of tables for the house. Dicebreaker is owned by Gamer Network Limited, a ReedPop company and subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions Limited.

Another major addition in Unfinished Business is the introduction of the Core Worlds to the game board. The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is Fantasy Flight Games’ longest-running LCG by a wide margin. This game has been around for ten years now, and the size of its loyal fanbase is a testament to how great of a game it is. To that end, we want to introduce this fantastic card game to even more people, and so we designed the Revised Core Set. But before you begin your journey, you have to step into the shoes of one of eight iconic Star Wars characters, each with their own personal goal and ability. Han Solo may want to find the fastest ship in the galaxy, while Boba Fett is looking to bring in bounties dead or alive. The first expansion for Star Wars: Outer Rim will allow players to become new characters such as Chewbacca.

During the planning step, Lando's drawn AI card tells him to do the first action that applies. The first listed action would allow him to recover all damage if he is defeated, but since Lando is still standing, he ignores it. The next action tells him to move towards the closest goal, which definitely applies. Lando has some cargo to deliver on Ryloth, so he moves three spaces to end his planning step on the planet. He follows similar directions for the action and encounter step. Once his cargo is sucesfully delivered, the goal token is removed from the planet. Far from the shadows of Coruscant’s skyscrapers lies the dangerous Outer Rim. To many citizens, the galaxy's edge represents a hive of scum and villainy that is better left ignored. But to the scoundrels of the galaxy, the Outer Rim represents the opportunity to become a legend.Unfinished Business is a wonderful addition to the original Star Wars: Outer Rim set. It brings more variety, more characters, and a new layer of intrigue and action to the overall experience.

First and foremost is a spread of new ships, such as the scrappy Rogue -Class Porax-38 Starfighter and the rebellious VCX-100 Light Freighter We shined a spotlight on some of these characters during our two livestreams for Unfinished Business. In the gameplay livestream, we showed off what Dengar Hera Syndulla Hondo Ohnaka Chewbacca You’ve made a name for yourself in the Outer Rim, but there is still Unfinished Business. Hyperlanes through the Core Worlds hold the promise of untapped opportunities. The market is flush with new merchandise, from valuable cargo to tools of the trade. Just watch your step; the latest crop of bounties is even deadlier, and your rivals are looking to take you down! Even after you have taken your last action, you are far from safe. The Outer Rim is full of danger and opportunity. At the end of your turn, you'll draw an encounter card based on your location. These encounter cards may provide new cargo or mods, help you make some progress on a job, or even test your skills for the opportunity to gain a huge reward.Towards the top left of this card and stretching across the top to the middle is the fame meter. Before the game begins, players must agree on how many fame points it takes to win the game. You can play a game up to 12 but let me tell you that you are looking at 5+ hours of game time for that amount of fame. When you complete jobs, bounties, or deliver cargo, you maybe have the opportunity to get additional fame points. This all depends on the card you get. The goal of the initial game is to reach the fame point limit. It’s a tough road to climb when there is a large number of fame points set. If all the new things to see and goods to grab aren’t enough for you, then you’ll be happy to know that Unfinished Business also gives you lots of new things to do. For starters, a pile of new interactive jobs, such as Honest Robbery Sail Barge Sabotage Rebel Traitor In Outer Rim, players take on rogues and scoundrels such as Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Jyn Erso who must complete a variety of contracts to earn credits and build up their fame. As well as its familiar faces, the game allows players to remix elements of Star Wars lore into their own adventure, with the freedom for characters to hop into ships belonging to other characters with various companions - Han piloting Jango Fett’s Slave I with an unshot Greedo by his side, for example. Star Wars Outer Rim: Unfinished Business was designed by Tony Fanchi and Corey Konieczka and published by Fantasy Flight Games, with graphic design by Michael Silsby. Star Wars Outer Rim: Unfinished Business Components Finally, there are the favor tokens. These were fine, but we didn’t use them that much. They do encourage a little bit more player interaction, but they are really only useful in a 3-4 player game. If you are playing with two players, I can’t fathom why I’d ever help out my only opponent. But since they are modular, you can take them or leave them as you see fit. Final Thoughts:

Star Wars: Outer Rim is finally getting its first expansion

Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend. Perhaps one of the most significant features added in Unfinished Business is the addition of the Core Worlds to the game board.

You’ve made a name for yourself in the Outer Rim, and you are well on your way to becoming a living legend. But business is far from over; there are still plenty of jobs to do and bounties to hunt. Hyperlanes through the Core Worlds hold the promise of untapped opportunities, and the market is flush with new merchandise. Just be sure to watch your step, because the Outer Rim has gotten even more dangerous, and your rivals are eager to take you down. As we mentioned in an article last week, KeyForge is going on hiatus with a planned relaunch alongside a digital version of the game in the future. In the In-Flight Report, we gave a sneak-peek at the game’s sixth set, Winds of Exchange. But for those looking for something new in this expansion, the ambitions hit the mark. These are great for new players who might not be totally sure what they should do at the start. Each ambition will nudge you in a specific direction of who your character will be. Some will have you focused on bounty hunting, some collecting powerful gear, while others will have you trying to be the best smuggler in the rim. While I enjoyed these, I’m not sure I’d play with them all the time. They were cool in that they gave the end game a climactic feel. However, you are definitely pigeonholed by the kind of character you play during the game. If you drew the Crime Lord ambition, then you won’t be wasting time hauling cargo or hunting bounties. So if you’d prefer to keep the open world feel and make your way as you go, then you’d probably leave the ambitions in the box. It may be just a modified YT-1300 light freighter for now, but complete the ship goal and you could be flying the Millennium Falcon !
