Great sound, clear bass, a little lost outdoors I bought this to replace an old Bose sound link mini. The sound definitely has more “depth” to it, I would guess this is mainly due to the speakers facing both directions. This is great in indoor settings although the sound becomes a little lost when used outdoors. I have listened to Elvis Costello since My Aim is Trueon speakers and systems, great and small. Elvis Costello sounded like Elvis Costello on the Cleer Scene but came across with a deeper, richer tone than he owns on the Dali Katch G2, even in clear mode. I don’t want my speakers to interpret my artists, (which I know they all do to an extent), but the Cleer Scene produced the Elvis Costello I want to listen to. Winner:Cleer Scene. Features A versatile little speaker that combines Bluetooth connectivity with a handy voice assistant that does much more than just read the weather forecast.

It boasts similar dimensions to a large floury bap, but that's where any comparisons with baked goods end. The new A1 supports Qualcomm’s latest aptX AdaptiveBluetooth 5.1 codec, and of course, Alexa is built-in. When I sit in my car in the circle waiting for my children to be dismissed from school during the week, I almost always have the radio in my vehicle set to the NHL Network so I can catch up with the league news. If you want more from the midrange and less from the treble, you can now tweak it thanks to a new EQ feature in the app, which adds significant value. For a nominal price hike over the launch price of the Flip 5, there’s certainly more detail here, too.

I’ve never listened to the B&O model so I can’t really compare them. I have taken the DALI on the road and overseas and it has withstood the travel and everyone asks me where I got it. If you don’t care about daisy-chaining several (or a hundred) of Bluetooth speakers at the push of a button, the Dali Katch G2 is simply the classiest and best-sounding speaker of its kind you can buy for the money. You can stereo-pair two of them, and while there is no button on the G2 to automatically pause the music should you walk into the room with an urgent problem, we would advise you to simply let that accurate, clear, agile and neutral presentation soothe your cares away. Sonically, the Katch G2 is nothing short of a delight. Besides the sound quality of a Bluetooth speaker, which we test with every genre of music from classical to pop, we also scrutinise other aspects of its design, including battery life, the robustness of its Bluetooth connection, how easy it is to use and set up, and finally how well built it is. Our review philosophy doesn't change whether we're evaluating a basic, budget Bluetooth speaker or a more premium model. If all you want from a decent outdoor speaker is portability and affordability, you really couldn't do much better than the excellent Tribit Stormbox Micro 2. A tiny, satchel-friendly Bluetooth speaker, this is easily one of the best we’ve tested at this meagre price point. Bang & Olufsen isn’t noted for following the herd. In the Danish electronics specialist’s catalogue you'll find a wheel-shaped wireless speaker, a TV that opens up like a butterfly, and an 8200-watt monolithic speaker comprising 18 drivers. Its output could reasonably be described as "innovative" – and the B&O Beosound A1 (2nd Gen) wireless speaker is no exception.

In the audio world, it is tough to compare how good one brand is to another on the whole, especially when it comes to big brands that have many products in their arsenal. While we do recommend some JBL speakers on the above list, don't assume that everything JBL makes is better than everything Bose makes. How we test Bluetooth speakersTo apply in store, simply call in to our branch and one of our experienced sales team will guide you through the application. Dali has implemented a TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode for the Katch G2, enabling users to pair two Katch G2s in stereo for increased volume and separation, with aptX HD to support better-quality streams at 24-bit/48kHz. Note, however, that you cannot stereo pair the first-generation Katch with the new G2 as the feature is facilitated by Bluetooth 5.0, and the original 2016 Katch only supports Bluetooth 4.0. Also, the new TWS mode is not meant to enable multi-room audio – the two Katch G2s should really be in the same room and will play stereo sound.
