In " A Lesson in Anger," Garmadon tries to teach Lloyd how to do the Oni Form in the Samurai X Cave, and comes across difficulty. He criticizes Lloyd's inability to do the Oni form, and Lloyd's repressed Destruction leaves him, much to his surprise. Garmadon then gets frustrated with Lloyd for repressing his Oni self. P.I.X.A.L. then enters the room and interrupts the lesson with good news, and ends the episode there. In Season 9, Lloyd formed a resistance against him. In " Radio Free Ninjago," the two nearly came face to face again but Skylor hid his presence. It was seen in that episode that Lloyd was still haunted from his last fight with his father since it was the reason he lost his powers. Our study contributes to an understanding of perceptions of self-harm in evangelical communities in three principal ways. Firstly, the stories illuminated that when self-harm was positioned as solely caused by demonic or other spiritual aetiological forces, it was seen as negative, often resulting in more stigmatisation and decreased attention to relational care. This suggests that evangelical Christians may perceive exclusively spiritual accounts of self-harm and mental illness in negative ways. Secondly, analysis of the stories suggested that when psychological illness was attributed to an individual’s personal sin, rendering self-harm and mental illness as incongruent with a Christian identity, the individual was robbed of agency in relation to their recovery and placed in a passive position. In this position, Summer’s recovery was jeopardised and she was pushed into a subject position of passivity and helplessness. This is a useful finding for pastoral care and may inform future practice by prioritising the need for a strengthening of genuine pastoral and relational care alongside spiritual interventions, which value agency and autonomy. Finally, the study has highlighted that females with mental illness within evangelical communities may be perceived as passive, youthful, and, at times, emotionally volatile. It is clear that such perceptions are harmful and should be actively challenged within pastoral settings.
