Description

I was chatting recently with long term cancer survivor and author of How to Starve Cancer, Jane McLelland. She was adamant that the diet to prevent cancer should be very different from your diet when you find you have cancer. What made the diagnosis even more tragic was the fact that McLelland’s doctor had misdiagnosed her for years. Since cervical cancer is highly treatable in its early stages, her tragedy could have been avoided. Hence, in addition to de-emphasising particular amino acids, our suite of nutrient-dense recipes optimised for cancer also boost vitamin D, vitamin B1, niacin, zinc, selenium, calcium and vitamin C. My course will cover the information contained in my book ' How To Starve Cancer ...without starving yourself' including the latest edition and ferroptosis. An ebook with 33 of the most nutritious meals optimised for cancer (that you can take with you anywhere on your phone or tablet).

All words cannot describe the efforts and dedication of Jane to spread her experience and wisdom to treat suffering cancer patients . Jane McLelland McLelland was reluctant about writing her book, but she felt she had a duty to share with the world what she had discovered—and what had saved her life. Jane is absolutely brilliant and understands cancer cell biology and off-label drugs better than most oncologists. I know you will learn a lot from this interview. You may even find the breakthrough you’re looking for… Enjoy! It will teach you everything you need to know about cancer metabolism, no matter what type or stage of cancer you have. Here’s what other people have said about the course: When you are first diagnosed with cancer it is confusing and frightening. Many doctors tell you to avoid all ‘complementary’ treatments, but some patients are now so scared of chemotherapy and radiotherapy that they avoid conventional treatments altogether. What Jane discovered is a unique middle path, one that bridges the gap and complements both sides. McLelland had repeatedly been told that diet had no impact on cancer, but the fact that her lung tumor had remained the size of a golf ball—and the fact that there were no tumors in other locations in her body—proved to her that the dietary changes she had already made were making a difference. However, we also need to consider that each of the approaches is designed intentionally to drive a higher energy intake (in the case of weight gain) and a lower energy intake (in the case of the maximum nutrient density recipes. To correct for this, we have adjusted the nutrient intakes, with a 30% deficit for the maximum nutrient density recipes and a 30% calorie excess for the weight gain recipes. Her book has won the NYC Big Book Award and the Janey Loves Gold Award for outstanding book in the health arena.

One common question in the development of these recipe books was whether someone using these recipes would still need to supplement. There may be benefits in supplementing to achieve the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) if these minimum requirements cannot be met by food alone, however, supplementing above these levels may be unnecessary and potentially risky. From our analysis of forty thousand days of data from Optimisers, we see that as people increase the nutrient density of their diet, they naturally tend to consume fewer calories. Rather than simply trying to restrict your intake, successful long term weight loss requires a shift towards improved diet quality. Fat and ketones This studysays the recent surge of interest in understanding cancer metabolism has identified several alternative fuels that tumor cells can utilize to support their metabolic needs. The dependence of tumors on these fuels reveals their unexpected metabolic flexibility to utilize a wide variety of alternative fuels. Today I have an interview with my friend and 15-year holistic terminal cancer survivor Jane McLelland, author of How to Starve Cancer. Rather than thinking in terms of individual nutrients or supplements, our database of recipes enables us to use a multicriteria analysis to prioritise recipes that contain specific nutrients in the context of whole foods that, beyond the essential vitamins and minerals, provides a broad range of beneficial compounds. Glutamineimpaired methylation (involved in gene activation/deactivation, DNA protection, detoxification, etc.), Jane is winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 ‘Amazing Women Global’ for unsung heroines. Awarded for Jane’s work educating and helping cancer patients since 2003. We have spent some time looking at how the different nutrients would change the nutritional recommendation and found that the base recommendations for cancer are most useful. From there, you can look to overlay specific drugs or targetted supplements that may be beneficial. Weight gain I also created a coaching program for cancer patients, caregivers and anyone who is serious about prevention called SQUARE ONE. It contains the step-by-step strategies used by myself and everyone I know who has healed cancer with nutrition and natural, non-toxic therapies. I'm with Petrolhead on this. Without a "control" or baseline comparison - e.g. someone who was identical, didn't do the same thing, and progressed/died - how do you know whether it's all the things you've chosen to do/not do, or the body managing in its own way to prevail? I'm a sceptic.

One fan even asked for more updates regarding his lifestyle change and wrote: "Ooh could you post more of your meal pics? Very interested on how this works and what you eat, amazing. Keep on keeping on". The only other thing I know is my serum folate is high, even though I don't take any folate supplementation, and that, I discovered from elsewhere, is a signal that two protective oncogenes have been disabled, one for bowel cancer and the other one is unclear. Which would likely fit with your 'couple of signalling pathways'... Not that the oncology department I attend is in the least interested in that, they won't even discuss it. Jane McClelland, an author and cancer survivor, shares her method of starving cancer cells to shrink and kill them in her book “How to Starve Cancer.” McClelland’s research revealed that cancer stem cells are resistant to conventional therapies and can potentially return aggressively after chemotherapy and radiation. As a result, she developed a protocol combining conventional cancer treatments with alternative approaches, which practitioners have adopted worldwide.

Innovative thinking, campaigner and qualified physiotherapist, Jane McLelland has combined her skills and experience to create a radical alternative medicine method. A unique career, highlighted with life changing ventures, Jane McLelland makes for a fascinating and educational event speaker, able to capture an audience's attention with her incredible story. When we first talked about building recipe books tailored for people managing cancer, Brian insisted there wasn’t a one size fits all solution. The research in this section has been highly influenced by a March 2020 paper Dietary modifications for cancer therapy by MIT Professor David Sabatini in the prestigious journal Nature. We are incredibly excited to be able to apply Sabatini’s analysis of cancer pathways and mechanisms using nutritional optimisation. The COC Protocol is a combined regimen of four commonly prescribed medications, each with evidence of metabolically-based anticancer activity and well-understood safety profiles. These medications are: metformin, atorvastatin, doxycycline, and mebendazole.

We need to starve malignant cells while also nourishing the person who has cancer (the host) at the same time. Your body’s repair function (autophagy or self-eating) occurs when insulin levels are low. Hence, it is crucial to reduce your insulin to healthy levels to allow your body’s natural repair and cleaning functions to be activated. While cancer cells prefer glucose and low carb or ketogenic diets have been found to help slow cancer growth, cancer cells can also use fat and ketones for fuel to grow. An environment that supports high levels of growth also corresponds to higher cancer growth. Some of the hormones that correspond with excessive growth in your body include insulin, mTOR and IGF-1. And a breast cancer patient who was told by her oncologist she was going to die is still alive and well, going to the gym, working as a nurse, and living a full life—all as a result of following McLelland’s approach to starving her cancer. The table below shows the protein intake in terms of grams per kilo body weight (BW) and grams per kilo lean body mass (LBM) assuming a 70 kg man with 20% body fat. These values are in line with the generally recommended healthy protein intakes without being excessive.
