About this deal

When I connect the carousel to a Sony STR-DH790, there were no issues. The DH790 shows the connectivity info on the readout of C20C2./OC44.1kHz. Sony read the following optical output specs to me: BTW, I have Aiyima A07 pro running with Elac Debut 6 Floorstands, haven't had any issues with it which made me think for another Aiyima product. Since then I have concentrated on my Blog. It is nice to be able to archive everything well and not let things get covered by waves of garbage. Writing articles take lot more than than posting in forums. Many have long periods of gestation and repeated revisions and editing. I hope you enjoy them.

The Decision Yes, call me superficial. I immediately fell in love with the SEXY (VU) meter! But, unlike some of you, I'd not easily give in! :-) Certainly I have no need for another amp (or so I thought). While the almost universal digital connectivity appeals, what seals the deal for me was the AUX OUT. I wasn't sure whether it is Fixed or Variable, but as some users used it for subwoofer it should be a Variable out. It is, and more on this later. Issue #2 (power inefficiency): When turned on it draws close to 11W! This is with no inputs or outputs connected to it yet, which came as a bit of a (negative) surprise. I wasn't expecting that much power consumption for such a small device that was supposed to be power efficient (according to some comments I saw online). As a comparison the Motu M2 only consumes about 2W. Issue #1 (Bluetooth): at some point I got some weird noises when using bluetooth, but I don't plan on using BT much in the feature, so I didn't spent much time on it. My Presonus also have BT and I think at some point my phone was connected to both, so it might have been some interference between the two. This only happened once out of two times I used bluetooth.A: When the unshielded signal line is unloaded, the interference signal will enter the power amplifier for amplification. It is recommended to replace it with shielded signal wire or unplug the signal wire. I got the feeling that this configuration sounds a bit like a tube system (including the feeling of being slighty slower), and I am a tube man! I was satisfied. This also shows the impressive range of the T9 BT. In my house, I can play my device from another room, and there are bends in the corridor. Where is the Factory The factory (in Guangming, 光明) is operated by Mr Liu’s friend, about an hour away in SZ from the headquarter. Mr Liu forwarded a few pics of the factory, but I hope to visit it personally soon.

The M2 seems to be very flat and a bit "upfront". The T9 Pro seems more like a U-shaped signature. Perhaps with some added "reverb"? (it feels like I'm listening in a larger room with a slightly better instrument separation and not so upfront). Both devices have similar Sabre DAC chipsets: ES9018K2M on the T9 Pro and ES9026Pro (according to some online non-official sources) on the Motu M2.Connect the rear power amplifier that needs external connection to the audio source output interface.

THIS is a BIG JUMP. I used the exact same 3.5mm to RCA adaptor and MIT cable I use for my Meridian Explorer, through T9's AUX OUT. Of course, I removed the loudspeaker cables from T9's binding posts.

One example is apparent on U2 Actung Baby "Zoo Station" I have also experienced it on Rusted Root and especially on a Pusifer CD that is recorded.

I also have a 24V power supply that I might try later, if I manage to find a compatible connector. I'd expect results to sit in-between the other two). Disclaimer: I must start by saying I don't really consider myself a true audiophile and I'm not fully familiar yet with the audiophile lingo, so please bare with me.Since I don't have any passive speakers yet, I could only test the Aux Output, connected directly to the Presonus' RCA inputs. Editor's Note 2/2/23:Readers may be interested in this newly published Video of the Making of Aiyima T9 Pro. It shows in detail how an Aiyima product is made. I wonder if this difference is mainly because of the tubes on the T9 Pro, or if the slightly different chipset (and their respective implementation), might play an important role too... Issue #3 (gets HOT!): Another thing that surprised me was how HOT the T9 Pro became after a while (I guess those 11W need to go somewhere). The tubes are the first thing to warm up (but I guess that's expected from a tube), but the whole case gets pretty hot after a couple of hours turned on. I wouldn't say it's burning hot, but it's hot enough to feel a bit uncomfortable if you hold your fingers on top of it or on the sides for a few seconds.
