About this deal

Most new users would long press the button and expect the drone to turn ON just like any other electronic but it won’t work. The drone will just show the battery charge level.

DJI smart batteries need to be charged every 3 months. The smart battery circuitry puts a small drain on the battery continually. Once done, press the button and see if the drone turns ON now. Drone is water damaged or crash damaged I have an alert reminder in my Outlook mail client to recharge all my DJI smart batteries every 3 months. LiPo batteries are quite resistant to physical deformation but a drone crash can impact the batteries severely. They can de-shape, deform or even the internal circuitry gets damaged.

The second-generation DJI Mavic Air 2 drone offers a number of new photo and video tricks and excellent flight time.

This is an automatic process connect the battery, upload the code, open the serial monitor with baud rate 115200 and with in 5 seconds your battery will glow. While it has the same 12MP resolution as the Air, the Mavic Air 2 has a larger 1/2-inch image sensor (versus 1/2.3-inch sensor on the Air). You must have heard the term “ have you tried turning it off & on again” in IT industry. Well, it works and we can try the same with our drone. When the aircraft is beyond 20 m away from the Home Point, press the RTH button on the remote controller or tap the RTH button in the app, the aircraft will return to home, match with the image information from takeoff, move horizontally, or yaw to change its nose direction to achieve precision landing.

There are not many ways you can insert the battery into your Mavic Air but there is a chance your battery is not fully inserted. To do this, simply connect your battery directly to the DJI charger (no hub charger for now) and let them sit for 12 hours. They will start charging after that. To eliminate this as a reason for your issue, closely inspect the battery terminals and the drone compartment terminals and make sure everything seems perfectly aligned. The controller also has an improved 10km transmission range, so you can feasibly fly the drone up to six miles away, and still get a clear picture on your smartphone’s display. Of course, you should only fly a drone where you can still see it, but it’s a pretty impressive range. While the Mavic Air never went more than 400 feet away from me, I never noticed any interference or interruption of the feed from the camera. DJI Mavic Air 2: Camera featuresThis guide provides a detailed troubleshooting guide that you can follow to eliminate the most common causes of your problem and most of the time, your drone will turn on.

First, clean the battery terminals with the cotton swab soaked in cleaning alcohol. Make sure to clean any and all debris, dirt any foreign objects. If that is the case, take your battery inside a warm room and keep it there till the temperature recovers and try again.

Your drone is a complex machine with a lot of electronics built into it and a software layer that coordinates everything. It is possible for it to develop bugs and software glitches at times. If you recently crashed your drone or dropped your battery accidentally, there is a good chance of physical damage to your battery. Unfortunately, I get the impression they are rushing development and issues are surfacing in the consumer's hands. They've put so much resources into development that they possibly cannot afford to make these things right despite are ultimately their responsibility. As a consume I cannot afford to take on their R&D risk nor would I want to. I use this hardware to for business and I need it to be reliable not to troubleshoot or pay for what isn't caught by their engineers. Another feature aimed at helping photographers is SmartPhoto; the Mavic Air 2 will be able to recognize five categories of scenes — such as sunsets, blue skies, grass, snow, and trees — and optimize the camera settings accordingly. Once your battery is out of hibernation, put it in your drone and turn it ON. If hibernation was the issue, it should turn ON now. Battery terminals & compartment is dirty
