Akartam volna még többet írni a játékról, de akkor 3 komment se lett volna elég. Nekem nagyon fontos, ha nem a legfontosabb, hogy egy játék szép legyen. A komponensek jó minőségűek, különlegesek legyenek, tetszenek az illusztációk, a színek. Nekem sajnos csak ezek ütik meg az ingerküszöböt. Biztos, hogy ezzel a kisebbséghez tartozom, de én kifejezetten az ilyen játékokat keresem, ezért is fókuszált erre a kommentem. Biztos van más is, akinek ez szempont. Szerintem ilyen szempontból tökéletes választás a MotDR.

Eddig 4-5 alkalmunk van benne, ebből 1 3 fővel (az volt a tanuló játék TJÜ-n Kánai Zoliéknál), a többi 2 fővel, ami tudom, hogy nem sok, sőt, de úgy gondolom, hogy ennél sokkal több játék után is lesz benne bőven benne taktai és stratégiai lehetőség, hogy éppen milyen utat kövessek a győzelem érdekében. Funnily enough, the shortcut, despite being more expensive and lit up like a Christmas tree, is equally as dangerous as the perilous path. A doboza alapján rárepültem, érdekelt nagyon. De a téma alapján elengedtem a játékot. BGG 2,93 komplexitás se nagyon csábító. Ellenben magyar oldalról semmi infóm nincs róla. A borító barátságos hangulata egyébként tükröződik a játékban is. Maga a játék egyáltalán nem ellenséges, sőt tulajdonképpen csak egymás mellett létező kereskedők vagyunk, nem egymás ellen. Nagyon tetszik a mechanika, amivel csatlakozhatunk a másik játékosok utazásaihoz, ami valóban 3-4 játékosnál lesz igazán jelentős, de szerintem 2 fővel is tökéletesen működik. Én személy szerint főleg szólóban játszok vele, ezért ebbe a részébe annyira nem is szólnék bele. A pontozási rendszer, miszerint balanszolni kell a pénz, és hírnév pontokat, szerintem nagyon ötletes, és hű a témához is. Sajnos nekem ez a játék pont abba a kategóriába esett ahol a befektetett energia megközelítőleg sem hozta azokat az élményeket, amiket én egy társasban keresek és ezért mennie is kellett. This is the magnetic market wheel, which while it doesn’t add much to the game, is just straight-up cool.Atmospheric and challenging, with a sense of jeopardy and derring-do that you don’t usually get in commercially themed games. Speaking of inventory, the goods tokens are wonderfully and somewhat lavishly designed. Each good token is double sided. The common side has a normal color symbol representing the good. However, the upgraded side of each good token has a metallic gold version of the symbol, which looks pretty stunning in person – especially when you remember it’s just cardboard. Once you’ve decided on a route and a town you’re going to visit, you’ll need to let the rest of the table know. As they now have the option to take part in your caravan. Depending on the route you choose, these moochers may have first dibs on the rewards of the journey. They also get to deliver to a town nearby your destination. Egy nagyon feelinges játék, egyből beszippant, viszont interakció az a 0 -val egyenlő ( ugye eldöntheted ,hogy utazol-e a másikkal , ha ő utazik ) viszont nagyon jó a mechanika , a mágneses kerék :) nem vagyok a solitaire játék kedvelő de a játék deluxának méltó helye van a polcon

Along with everything else, Merchants of the Dark Road creates such interesting decision space. No matter what type of gamer you are, there’s something in here for you. Amid all this impressive rondelry is a Bitoku-ish dice-placement mechanism. Each player starts with seven ‘night’ dice, whose value determines how far their wagon can move around the aforementioned roundabout. But as each die is activated, you can trigger other benefits, too, such as gaining a lantern, or crafting an item. Or, indeed, activating an eighth ‘illuminated’ die, which allows you to take not merely one, but three adjacent actions on the kingdom board. However, all these dice are an ever-dwindling resource. Illuminated dice are one-use only (and you’ll need to work quite hard to replace them), while over the 13 rounds (each representing a week of winter), you will gradually remove your night dice from the game, incrementally restricting your flexibility on each turn. The final few rounds become a deeply brain-burning matter of figuring out how to best exploit what little choice you have left. Especially as Suhre has implemented a Reiner Knizia-style scoring system, where your end-game result is determined by the lowest value you’ve achieved in either prestige or money, meaning you’ll have to maintain a careful balancing act between the two throughout.

Thanks to such neat mechanical touches, which are invaluably complemented by Bosley’s atmospheric art, Merchants of the Dark Road is a joy to play, somehow making its fantasy-world economics feel like the place where the real adventure is happening. The game plays over 13 turns which are represented by dice, you pre roll these and place them onto your wagon and then “bump” one up through 1 of 3 bonus slots which will then indicate how many spaces you can move around the city. Once the cached dice are used 1 is removed and the remaining ones are rolled until no more dice remain. The other side of your wagon board holds the other items that you acquire on your travels, and these are arranged in an isle of cat’s style grid.
