The gameplay is fast paced and there's always people to play with. Killing the admiral will bring on graver consequences for the Obama. Merely shooting a limb will let him recover and save the vessel from complete destruction. (If you wait long enough, you can avoid the choice of shooting Briggs, ultimately saving his life)
