About this deal

The book states " You'll need to either navigate a maze and battle Fang before the time runs out or collect eighty Rings with the Tornado within a strict time limit." In the actual game, however, the player battles Fang after completing either variation of the Special Stage, not only the maze one. While the other Zones featured in this section shows at least one screenshot from each Act, Lava Reef Zone only displays two screenshots both from Lava Reef Zone Act 1. No images from Lava Reef Zone Act 2 are displayed. General Failure: Infinite is Eggman's main enforcer and genuinely dangerous, but he's also an Axe-Crazy Sadist more fixated on relishing in his enemies' pain than actually doing his job effectively or pragmatically. Eggman's ultimate defeat in the game is entirely on Infinite for playing with his food too much. The entry states " Enthusiastic fans also found that Amy Rose was supposed to appear in a scrapped Sound Test mode in other leaked versions." In truth, the Sound Test and Amy's appearance were not scrapped, and can still be accessed and viewed in the final game via a cheat code in the color test. Badass Normal: The final tie-in comic shows that before he gained the power of the Phantom Ruby, he was a highly skilled mercenary captain. He managed to fight his way through hundreds of Eggman's robots and came within a hairsbreadth of actually killing the good doctor, only failing due to the Phantom Ruby's interference.

Madillo's sprite is incorrectly cropped, having loose pixels from another sprite on the right of said sprite. Omega's entry states, " you must recover his dismembered pieces and reassemble him so he may join your party." In the game, the player finds Omega destroyed by the Nocturnus Clan in a location of Metropolis, but the player does not have to look for multiple pieces for Tails to reassemble him.The Crystal Head, Kaizoku Glider and Kaizoku Snowball, who all appear in Blizzard Peaks, are erroneously stated to appear in Haunted Ship. The description for Twinkle Circuit claims that this Action Stage must be completed before Sonic can access Twinkle Park. In reality, Twinkle Circuit is an optional Action Stage for Sonic.

Ice Paradise's section is erroneously accompanied by two screenshots of Ice Mountain Zone from Sonic Advance. Colour-Coded Timestop: While not exactly a time-stop, his teleportation produces the same effect as the Phantom Ruby. This is not a coincidence. Hero Killer: Downplayed in that the only people he actually kills are the Avatar's teammates, but he effortlessly defeats other powerful characters such as Sonic, Silver, and Omega. Red Eyes, Take Warning: Subverted. He appears to have red sclera, but Episode Shadow reveals that it's just the red-tinted glass of the mask. His sclera is actually white.

Mineral MacGuffin: He has some relation to the mysterious purple gemstone that is referred to as the "Phantom Ruby" by an in-game guide that everyone was after in Sonic Mania, implied by the sound it makes. The game reveals that the Ruby was given to him by Eggman. Metropolis Zone's boss is referred to as " Flying Eggman II", despite the fact that no mech before this existed under the name "Flying Eggman". In addition to the regular edition, a deluxe edition of Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia was published. This special version includes: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG ENCYCLO-SPEED-IA HC. Dark Horse Books. Archived from the original on 24 November 2021. Retrieved on 24 October 2021.

The first screenshot used for the Volcanic Tunnel's profile shows the opening cutscene for Tails Adventure instead. The entry states that only Dr. Eggman, Amy and Maria's menu themes for Sonic Adventure 2 were released in Japan. While this claim is correct in both Amy and Maria's cases, Eggman's theme was also released in western territories. Shadow, Omochao, and the Secretary's themes (which were Japanese-exclusive) are not mentioned. Villain Ball: After defeating Sonic in the Mystic Jungle, he lets him live, deeming him Not Worth Killing. Eggman calls him out on doing so, knowing that Sonic will continue to be a threat as long as he's still alive, and is ultimately proven right.

The entry states that Super Sonic defeated Dr. Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. While the player can obtain all seven Chaos Emeralds, they cannot use Super Sonic in the final Zone, as there are no Rings there to use to transform. Also, while Sonic does transform into Super Sonic in the game's Good Ending, that only happens after Eggman has already been defeated.

Hate Sink: Overall, Infinite is a Psychopathic Manchild with a constant Sadist streak, he may appear to be a badass, but by the end, it's clear that he's nothing but a bully. Who's Laughing Now?: His main ambition for utilizing the Phantom Ruby. Rather expectedly, Shadow, the one who started his embitterment, is the first person he personally toys with before starting about capturing Sonic. Infinite's character bears one perhaps even more noteworthy than the rare possibility of a second Phantom Ruby nullifying his powers: namely, his hopeless addiction to sadism. Infinite isn't interested in pragmatism; his personal agenda is domination, to relish in the fear, suffering, and subjugation of others as much as possible, constantly playing it off as it "not being worth the time" to finish off the enemy. Even after Eggman calls him out on letting Sonic live when he had him cornered, the one person who could absolutely ruin everything, Infinite tries to rationalize it away. Even beyond that, Infinite failed to recognize what he'd inadvertently created when he subjected the Avatar to the same experience that led to him becoming so powerful. Success!

Cold Ham: Despite his calm demeanor and subdued voice, practically every line of dialog that comes out of him is an over the top Badass Boast. Evil Counterpart: Infinite is a dark foil to the Avatar, making the conflict of Forces less of a battle between Sonic and Eggman and more of a match between their allies. Uncertain Doom: While it is implied that his body started fading away after it was too damaged to handle the Phantom Ruby's power anymore, and made clear ( in the Japanese version especially) that Eggman himself recalled him once he lost too many times, it's not made explicit as to whether he actually died following his last fight with Sonic and the Avatar, only that Eggman likely placed his Phantom Ruby into his Death Egg Robot. The Sonic Encyclo-speed-ia proposes that he and his prototype Phantom Ruby ended up getting absorbed into the original Phantom Ruby, though that doesn't clarify if he's gone for good, especially since the Ruby is still intact. In Metal Madness' section, it states: " His glowing weak points change color, showing which skill type he's currently immune to." The " immune to." fragment is accidentally also added to the end of the Metal Overlord's description, leaving a broken sentence.
