PR Lotion is a tool for the human body that delivers bicarbonate directly to your hardest working muscle groups. Bicarbonate is what your body naturally produces to neutralize acid, battle fatigue and reduce soreness. More bicarbonate means the ability to do more–more work, more results and more days doing what you love. The Topical Edge investigators recruited eight volunteer competitive cyclists and put them to the test: each of the participants completed two sessions of high-intensity intervals two days apart. For the first session, half were randomized to PR Lotion and the other half to a control lotion that contained all the ingredients of the PR Lotion except the active ingredient. For the second session, the participants “crossed-over” to the alternate lotion so that each participant performed one session using the PR Lotion and the other session using the control lotion. Neither the investigators nor the participants knew which lotion they received in both instances. In other words, this was a double-blinded, randomized, controlled crossover trial, which is a particularly rigorous study design.

The results presented in the current work are presented clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. We would like to thank the subjects who cheerfully participated in this research study. Momentous provided the PR Lotion and placebo control lotion for this research. Conflict of interestPrimary and secondary outcome variables were analyzed with a mixed linear regression model to determine time course effects and presented as a line of best fit and upper and lower confidence limits for the regression. In addition, change (Δ) from baseline to end-of-study for each outcome variable was tested by univariate t-test. Lastly, to explore the possibility of a dose-pH relation, the absolute dosage of 80gPR Lotion applied, made relative to participant’s bodyweight, was compared to the reported change in pH of the intramuscular dialysate via Pearson correlation. All variables are presented as mean ± standard error of the mean (SE). Significance was accepted at p< 0.05. 3 Results 3.1 Primary outcome variable: pH

Not only do athletes run the risk of significant GI distress with sodium bicarbonate ingestion; they must also plan the appropriate strategy and remember to take the sodium bicarbonate capsules, in the correct amounts and at the right time to achieve performance benefits. Combined, these issues make sodium bicarbonate ingestion, as performance aid, impractical for most athletes and make regular use difficult during training and competition. Because of the reduced inflammation and muscle soreness between training sessions, PR Lotion can improve the rate of recovery or readiness to train. That is, diminished muscle soreness in the days following intense exercise, aids in the recovery of muscle function which can only enhance the quality of the subsequent training session. The improved readiness to train, combined with increased buffering potential in the muscle, promotes the maintenance of high training loads or high-quality training efforts. This means that the athlete is more ready and able to handle the required or prescribed training loads. PR Lotion can, therefore, help an athlete be more physically capable of performing the intended training session, which will allow for overall superior adaptations to the prescribed training. According to one study, participants experienced a 53.5% reduction in post-workout DOMS and a heart rate that was 3.1% lower than the control group. In a similar study, an elite cycling training center (Source Endurance) in Northern Colorado performed a placebo controlled, blinded, and randomized research study on the performance benefits of PR Lotion. A group of competitive cyclists rode at 140% of a predetermined 20 min time trial power for 30 seconds with 20 seconds of rest; then repeat the interval until exhaustion. They observed a 20% increase in the number of intervals completed before exhaustion when the cyclists used PR Lotion compared to applying a placebo control lotion. Methods: We measured the pH from intramuscular dialysate, via microdialysis, of the vastus lateralis during a 2h application of PR Lotion (40g of lotion per leg) in 9 subjects (3 women, 6 men). Venous blood samples were obtained for serum pH before and after application. A placebo time control was also performed in 4 subjects (2 women, 2 men). We hypothesized that PR Lotion application would increase pH of intramuscular dialysate.
