Bracing desert winds. A riddle of bergamot and balsam. Dusk greets a convoy of fragrant woody amber – and just in time for tea. Warm myrrh makes tarrying tempting. But is it all a façade? Surely not. Penhaligon’s Est. London 1870 Someone said it’s reminiscent of Coco Mademoiselle in their review which I hadn’t noticed until they said it. Now they’ve said it, I can see where they’re coming from. I’d said to the store I liked that Coco and Chanel No. 5 but didn’t want to wear Chanel any more as they’re not cruelty-free. Halfeti Leather is the flanker to the original Halfeti release by Penhaligon’s. It opens with a fresh sweetness and dried fruit accord. This is what drew to me to the fragrance in the first place – I really enjoy sweet accords in my fragrances. For the uninitiated, Penhaligon's are a British company founded in the 1860s and the image they present of themselves is strongly aligned with the well to do. This isn't a lie either - Winston Churchill was apparently an avid wearer of their 'Blenheim Bouquet', and James Bond associated himself with them in the Ian Fleming novels. It'd be fair to say, therefore, that Penhaligon's as a brand can be described as traditional and critics (...me!) might call some of their older fragrances 'dated'.

Today I'm going to take a brief look at the 3 Halfeti Fragrances from Penhaligon's.Helfeti Leather, Halfeti (Original) and the Halfeti Cedar. I've been road-testing these amazing fragrances for the past couple of weeks and have got to rekindle my love affair for both the orient and British perfume house Penhaligon's. HALFETI CEDAR Halfeti Cedar is unconcerned with trying to keep up with the original, however! As the saffron fades, the rum note begins to combine with the cedar, dark fruits and immortelle (I won't even bother trying to work out what the 'mineral notes' are adding) and...holy hell. What we have here is that rarest of perfume scents, the Christmas pudding. If you love booze and dried fruits, this is a perfume you need to try, because it's really nailing the accord for me. It's the booziest darn thing I've smelt. Mr. Provenzano has also worked on each of the flankers, with Halfeti Leather being an early 2020 release and Halfeti Cedar being a late 2020 release. As far as I'm aware, Penhaligon's haven't done flankers before (unless you count the EDP release of the EDT Endymion) which is perhaps further evidence of changing times for the company As the scent dries down, the oud, incense and leather really start coming through and carry the fragrance on the skin for hours. Occasions and VersatilityPenhaligon's: Agarbathi, Babylon, Blenheim Bouquet, Bluebell, Cairo, Castile, Changing Constance, Douro, Elisabethan Rose, Empressa, Endymion, Endymion Concentré, Halfeti, Halfeti Cedar, Halfeti Leather, Iris Prima, Juniper Sling, Lily of the Valley, Luna, Monsieur Beauregard, Much Ado About The Duke, Opus 1870, Orange Blossom, Oud De Nil, Quercus, Racquets, Sartorial, [Savoy Steam]( https://www.reddit.com/r/fragrance/comments/lm5mlw/penhaligons_savoy_steam_review/, Terrible Teddy, The Bewitching Yasmine, The Blazing Mister Sam, The Coveted Duchess Rose, The Impudent Cousin Matthew, The Ingénue Cousin Flora, The Inimitable William Penhaligon, The Tragedy of Lord George, The Uncompromising Sohan, Vaara Halfeti Leather, similarly, continues from where it left off with the plum note softening, and the nutmeg starting to shine through, bringing it more into line with its parent. Again, the other notes here are subtle; it's more about how they blend with the leather.

The staff weren’t the friendliest in the 1st Covent Garden store we went into and seemed inconvenienced by me coming in. It felt a bit like the scene in ‘Pretty Women’ where she’s snubbed shopping on Rodeo Drive. However, the second store in Covent Garden Market Piazza was much friendlier and more helpful. Penhaligon’s Cairo Eau de Parfum is another Penhaligon’s favorite for me. It’s sexy, warm and perfect for an evening perfume for the Winter. I personally find it more of a woman’s perfume than unisex as it is on the sweeter, floral side. This is quite peppery, strong and obviously has juniper berry. I personally think it’s more on the masculine side than feminine and quite a strong fragrance. A little Juniper Sling goes a long way to spritz lightly! It’s on my miss list and not one I’ll try again. It’s not overwhelming, as long as you’re not too heavy with it and it’s strength and complexity makes me feel more confident, sexy and powerful. Halfeti is towards the top of my favorites list for a Winter, going out/evening perfume.I thought it'd also be a good opportunity to revisit the original Halfeti and its first flanker, Halfeti Leather at the same time though, so let us begin. Halfeti Leather opens with top notes of Cardamom, Plum, Green Notes, Lavender, Bergamot and Citruses. The mid is comprised of Cumin, Rose, Nutmeg, Violet, Cinnamon and Jasmine; while the base notes are Leather, Incense, Agarwood (Oud), Cedar and Patchouli. How Does Halfeti Leather Smell?
