I love it when I don’t have to say much about cleaning and descaling. I can bet you love it too! Anyway, the Eletta Explore has been designed to make cleaning and maintenance something you won’t have to dread. For the cold versions, the Eletta tells you how many ice cubes from its silicone mold you need to put into your glass for the whole thing to work. It suggests a relatively large number of cubes per drink. Additionally, the Eletta Explore is a hot milk foam monster and makes more than successful coffee. In other words, I’ve awarded the Eletta Explore a high score because it’s convincing in the categories that really count. Located behind the water tank on the side of the machine, the Eletta Explore’s brew group is fully removable. That’s definitely a bonus in my opinion, because you’re going to want to take good care of this thing.

However, it has some improvements that are really innovative in my eyes. I’m talking about the electronic grinder with Bean Adapt Technology and the full touch display (instead of sensor fields). Incidentally, the Coffee Link app, with its multitude of specialty drink settings, is unchanged. This is a new feature that we will hopefully start seeing on other Delonghi espresso machines. It provides space for travel mugs to fit under the coffee spout and gives you the option for any of your favorite coffees in 8, 12, or 16-oz sizes. Simply select “to-go” on the menu and choose the coffee you want to fit your travel mug. 3. Iced Coffee Functions First things first, decide whether you want your drink hot, cold, or to-go from the drinks screen. If you’re feeling fancy, you can even customize the strength and size of your drink with the preset options and save them to your profile for future use. The Explore earns its name by inviting you to become a barista at home and try out a wide variety of fully automatic coffee beans, recipes and settings. The machine delivers this invitation in a very personal (and cute) way.

Have all your personal coffee preferences saved to your profile so you don’t need to make adjustments every time. Everyone (well, 4 of you) can customize every drink to their own tastes for one-touch personalized coffee. 6. App Connectivity (Maybe?) Setting the temperature to low, aroma to max, and grind to three gave me the most balanced result (where the coffee would finish), but it still doesn't compare to what I get from my Magnifica S. It's a lot more drinkable than the out-of-the-box settings. What could be better than DeLonghi’sLatteCrema automatic milk system? What about having 2 LatteCrema systems? All removable parts, including the used grounds bin, drip tray and brew unit should be rinsed on a regular basis. Oh, and I’d steer clear of the dishwasher if I were you. As for the milk flasks, they’re really easy to take apart and clean. In this case, a dishwasher cycle wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The brewing performance of the DeLonghi Eletta Explore is top-notch. As I mentioned earlier in the review, its advanced technology makes coffee drinks with the press of a button.

My advice is to avoid darker roasts. They are extremely oily and may clog up your grinder after a while. Coffee Bypass Simply switch to their designated user profile, and you can enjoy your personalized coffee without worrying about ruining your settings. Extra Features When you’ve set up the machine, you can then programme individual profiles for users. You get four profiles, which may not be enough for the largest households, but these profiles are just a way of saving favourites to a name and you can easily dispense and personalise drinks without them.The drip tray and water tank slot nicely into place and feel of decent quality. The milk carafes and sliding nozzles also don’t look or feel likely to break. Most other coffee makers, even top-end ones, are plastic-dominant too.

The same applies to the hope of being able to enjoy the Eletta’s cold cappuccino. To make sure it’s really cold, you have to add ice cubes to the cup and attach the “cold carafe” (white lid) before brewing. However, this number does make sense. If you skimp on the ice, you’ll get rather lukewarm drinks that aren’t really fun. If you obey the Eletta Explore, the results are quite refreshing. I must confess that I was fascinated to see that you can choose from over 40 pre-programmed coffee recipes! DeLonghi Eletta Explore has everything from classic espresso to creamy lattes and frothy cappuccinos. It becomes a question of how much you want a fully automatic coffee machine, and what steps you want it to handle. I don't mind steaming my own milk, but you might not. I’ll never get over DeLonghi suggesting two different milk types for hot and cold foam either.
