About this deal

Cloth filters generally wind up occupying the middle ground between metal filters, and are reputed to offer the clarity of the paper filter and the flavor of the metal filter. They’re made of something similar to crepe paper, and they’re heavy enough they can be washed and reused. Ideally you want your water to be just off the boil, around 93-96C. Using a thermometer or temperature-controlled kettle lets you set the temperature exactly, but if using a regular kettle, boil the water and open the lid for about 30 seconds to a minute to let it cool down before using.

Although there were subtle differences, the metal didn’t seem to significantly influence the taste of the brew too significantly. Depending on your personal preferences, the fact that the Café Concetto and Able Disk let through fine grounds/sediments may (or not) be a deal-breaker. But if you really want to give these two a try, consider using a coarser grind than usual.

Well, you must be thinking of the sediments problem that plague all AeroPress metal filters. But, ameuus filters are actually a lot better at filtering out loose coffee grounds than other competitors due to their smaller filter hole sizes. AeroPress paper filters will give you a nice, clean cup of coffee with very little sediment if there’s any at all.

When it comes to deciding the best Aeropress filter for your personal use, there are plenty of issues to consider. Price, material, size, clarity and reusability are all things to look at when you’re making a choice. Since 2005, there have been 8 versions of the Aeropress made, so paper filters might be more compatible with all 8 designs, as opposed to metal filters that are more rigid in size. When you press the cafetière down, press it very slowly and gently so as not to agitate the coffee grounds. Don’t press right down to the bottom. The beauty of the AeroPress primarily lies in its simple yet versatile functionality. Craving an espresso-like cuppa? The AeroPress has you covered! In the mood for iced coffee to keep away the scorching summer sun? There’s an AeroPress recipe for that. However, the AeroPress’s versatility goes beyond brewing methods to include accessories and attachments that extend its functionality.

Like the AMEUUS filter, they’re engineered to let through maximum coffee oil, and little to no coffee sediment. Using the paper filter for the control brew went just as expected. The resulting cup was clean and light as most of the undertones were scrapped by the paper. Now, let’s see how this control brew compared to the AeroPress metal filters. With the right filters, combinations shouldn’t be needed. However, that’s not to say they can’t be combined. Aside from those, AeroPress metal filters and cloth filters are also pretty common-place. 1. Paper Filters – The Classic Choice for an AeroPress Every choice has pros and cons, so you should explore your options until you hit on exactly the right choice for you. Can I Combine Filters? In summary I would say the Aeropress metal filter is good at one thing, and perhaps one thing only - the recipe that I recommended in my earlier post. Even then, the Concetto Fine disc will do this job even better! They’re theoretically indestructible, and can even be rolled or folded, though it’s not recommended.
