The mechanism for the oven works smoothly and seems nearly impossible to jam. It can be a little messy, though. Maybe that’s why that elf looks so unhappy: there’s some quality time with a mop in their near future. The elves presumably enjoy waffles as two waffles are placed on their dining table and three more remain visible in the oven! There is only enough room for two elves at the table and their short legs prevent them from sitting down, although these tan chairs do look nice. The LEGO Reindeer is an absolutely great addition, and a must-have for any Winter Village. I really, really wish LEGO had bumped the price up slightly to accommodate for another reindeer, or a few more Elves. All four minifigures include short green legs, contrasting against their bright green torsos and looking great. Much like their female counterparts, one of these minifigures features a double-sided head while the second only displays a broad smile. The same heads have appeared on multiple previous occasions which is slightly unfortunate.The first instruction booklet covers the first two bags of parts, and includes everything that isn’t part of the club house structure itself. It has the Christmas tree, a selection of gifts, a sleigh, a scarf-wearing elf and Brixen. These builds don’t really interact with the club house at all, so it could be a good opportunity to share the work around with a bit of family building. You know, if this set wasn’t meant just for adults. (I’m almostdone complaining about that.) The combination of muted sand green and dark green tiles across the floor complements the dark tan walls, interrupted only by a bright green 2x4 tile at the centre of the room. The red element near the door appears out of place but this red 3x4 plate with four studs is relatively uncommon. Say hello to the 2020 LEGO Winter Village set – 10275 Elf Club House, the perfect addition to your Christmas LEGO display. The final bit of building is putting together the chimney. Rather than just another rehash of a wood-burning hearth, we get something entirely new. Thanks to a bit of clever LEGO engineering, there’s a plinko-like mechanism to cook waffles! I’ve left the front off of it here so you can see the setup. You’ll get to see it in action below.

The club house includes sheltered parking for the accompanying sleigh. This structure looks remarkably simple but I like the reddish brown pillars that contrast against the otherwise dark tan ground floor. The sleigh slots neatly into this parking bay and tiles on the ground allow the vehicle to arrive or depart smoothly, as one might imagine on the snow. It does have its own unique style, with the tall roof, which has a sharper angle, and two windows that emerge out each side. The Elves have a tendency of sleeping in and being lazy, which is why the leader, Galadriel is equipped with a megaphone to wake them up. This is a minor, minor gripe, and has been a problem forever, but I really dislike the colour bleeding from the Elf hat onto their ears.A new global property db2.jcc.alternateUTF8Encoding is introduced in JCC. Before becoming a LEGO designer and creating this set, Chris McVeigh constructed some tremendous models. His classic computers are particularly popular and it therefore seems fitting to include another computer here! The angular keyboard and gigantic monitor are both evocative of computing from the 1990s and this model looks wonderful, displaying the elves' nice list in an appropriately antiquated style.
