Sight Words Bingo is one of the entertaining, engaging and interactive activity for kids to practice and memorize the challenging and common sight words. Collaboration: Bingo can be played in small groups, which promotes teamwork and social interaction. A sight word is a word that can be read without having to sound it out. Sight words are often called whole word, high frequency, or learn-to-read words. Kids are expected to recognize these words as soon as they see them. These words appear frequently in our reading and writing text. Laminate all the bingo cards o the game can be played over and over again without having to reprint. Let the games begin! Once each player has a bingo card, a parent or teacher calls out the sight words either randomly from a list or out of a hat or similar object. Coins, cheerios or anything handy can serve as markers which are placed over the called sight word. The first child to complete a diagonal line, column or row wins the game and cries out, “bingo.” The winner should read the sight words aloud to practice reading them as well as to verify she won the game. If your child or some students do not recognize the words, consider reviewing each sight word prior to playing bingo. Which Sight Words Should I Use

If you are creating your own bingo cards, consider using the first 25 sight words located below in the progressive sight word post. Once your child has mastered these words, proceed to the next list. If your child knows some sight words, identify which ones he cannot automatically recognize and create bingo cards with those words.
