Ready to Wear gowns are priced higher than Standard gowns as they're available for immediate shipment. For our bridal headpieces, we’ve seen an increase in requests for wedding combs and clips, and also the classic tiara is still going strong. The versatile bridal hair vine, which can be worn in so many positions, is rising in popularity with brides too. In terms of colour, silver is, and has always been, the most popular headpiece colour brides wear. We suspect the rose gold trend of the last couple of seasons may be starting to wane a little. Wedding Accessories And what shade? If possible, you should aim for the exact shade of your dress or go up a shade lighter.

It's always hard to decide which style to go for when choosing your wedding veil. Start by considering the length… Shorter wedding veils like birdcages and waist length veils, tend to lend a bit more personality as well as an informal, retro edge to your bridal look. Or lean more in the way of tradition with a flowing chapel length veil or dramatic cathedral veil for a show-stopping entrance. If you’re going long, make sure the veil is longer than your dress. Finding a style that complements the overall silhouette is critical. Of course! We can do a custom bead layout, or different coloured beads to match a headpiece — pretty much anything is possible. Occasionally, we've even been asked to do diamante lettering or monogramming. If custom beading for your veil is something you're interested in, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Veils by LengthAs a general rule, if your dress is heavily embellished your wedding veil should be simple with clean lines, as you don’t want to take away from the detail on the dress. A more simple gown allows you to be a bit more adventurous, but make sure the embellishments complement the style and colour of your dress – for instance, a glamorous sequined veil would feel out of place next to a romantic lace gown embroidered with tiny pearls.

Cathedral veils are also an extremely popular choice and are the first stop for striking, dramatic wedding looks. Usually around 3 metres in length from comb to end, these stunning additions to your big day style look simply asoutinding paired with wedding gowns that feature a long or wide train, or look equally as effective paired with shorter veils for an ethereal, pretty-as-a-princess finish. If you want to go all-out, a cathedral-length veil makes the most dramatic of entrances. Think cascading swathes of airy tulle sweeping up the aisle In terms of colour, you might have already guessed that the ivory shades reign supreme as that’s what 90% of today’s wedding dresses are. Particularly for us, our Light Ivory illusion tulle and Pale Ivory Italian tulle — which are our two bestselling shades — followed by Diamond white (an off-white shade) and Ivory Shimmer. We don’t see as much call for pure White or the deeper colours like Oyster, Blush Pink or Champagne. Bridal Headpieces Choose a wedding veil with the right finish for your dress. Team a plain dress with an intricate, sparkly veil but keep it simpler for elaborate gownsFor example — a bride may measure an XL bust, L under bust, XL waist and M hip, and we make your gown to the correct size range in each area. Our gowns are designed with little complications for alterations if necessary and our hems can be easily adjusted by your trusted seamstress at your expense. For our other accessories… Well, you can never go wrong with a touch of “something blue” in your garter. For wedding jewellery; less is always more, and a simple pendant is definitely being favoured over chunkier designs. As for bridal belts, again, we’re finding brides are wearing the smaller, narrower designs more than larger pieces. The number of wedding veil styles can feel intimidating at first glance. From the cathedral length veil and chapel length veil, to the elbow length veil and shorter styles… where to begin? Here’s a little guidance for inspiration.

If that’s too much, a chapel-length veil has a flowing train and is a classic choice if you’re having a formal wedding in a church Your hairstyle needs to be able to support the wedding veil, and don’t forget to take it to your hair trial so you can experiment with different looks If your dress is already sparkly, you can go one of two ways with the veil. Keep the veil plain and let the dress do all the talking, or tie in a subtly sparkly veil, maybe with just a light scatter of diamantes, to keep to the theme you've already got going. All brides have their own comfort level when it comes to the amount of bling they enjoy, but with our three standard beading layouts you can adjust that level from a light scatter to catch the light, to full-on “falling stars” for maximum sparkle! Do you make custom beaded veils? To determine your size range, we take your bust, under bust, waist and hip measurements and compare these against our Size Range Chart below, to make your gown. Over the years since our company began, we’ve definitely seen a few bridal accessory trends come and go. Here’s our take on the current favourites. Wedding Veils Do you have to wear a veil at your wedding? The veil is a decorative bridal piece steeped in custom, but that doesn’t mean it’s essential. If you’re anything but traditional, you may decide to go without. But, it may be worth trying a wedding veil on before making your final choice. For a quirkier retro-style option, consider the playful birdcage veil, which can also be worn in the evening too.
