About this deal

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 19.3:9 aspect ratio and 4,500mAh battery. It offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage options, expandable up to 1.5TB. The Note 20 Ultra features triple rear camera - 108MP, 12MP and 12MP, and a 10MP front camera. It also offers 3x Optical Zoom, 50x Space Zoom and 8K video recording support. There's a difference in RAM — the Galaxy Note 20 has 8GB of memory to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra's 12GB — so you would imagine switching between apps will go smoother on the Note 20 Ultra than on the standard model. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will likely outperform the Note 20 on some benchmark tests when we get a chance to thoroughly review both phones, but it won't be by much.

Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, Auto HDR, panorama, Video (8K@24fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, 720p@960fps, HDR10+, stereo sound rec., gyro-EIS & OIS) Battery: Actual battery life varies by network environment, features and apps used, frequency of calls and messages, number of times charged, and many other factors. Before I continue, did I mention that there was absolutely no mention of Bixby at the launch event? Samsung’s naff digital assistant was notably absent from the official presentation, and the dedicated Bixby button on the side of the phone has quietly been removed, too. In a practical sense, this discrepancy is hardly worth buying the more expensive phone for, in my opinion. Where the Note 20 Ultra does beat its Note 20 stablemate is with its massive 108-megapixel main camera unit – which works with the aforementioned 12-megapixel zoom sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide snapper.

Here’s where Samsung wins, even if images from its phones aren’t ‘the best’ when it comes to pixel-peeping: it has the easiest to use and most fun smartphone camera. That still counts for something. Swiping anywhere on the viewfinder portion of the screen to flip between the front and rear cameras – to us, this acts like a big button, replacing that tiny ‘flip’ icon that's in a random corner of nearly every other phone. First of all, Samsung has teamed up with Microsoft to bring optimized cloud gaming on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. This makes it the first smartphone in the world to feature special optimizations for Microsoft’s project X cloud game streaming service. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a gaming phone that can be used to play more than 90 Xbox gaming titles via the Xbox game pass. Again, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will also be the first handset to offer the Corning Gorilla Glass 7 protection. All of these are launch prices - in practice you can often now find it for less if you shop around, but this is still a very expensive phone. Design-wise, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra lives up to its moniker. As you can probably tell from the images dotted around this review, it looks like an especially large handset with monstrous physical dimensions. It’s certainly up there in size terms, but I never really had to worry about dropping it, even when I moved from the comparatively dainty iPhone 11.

Super Smooth 120 Hz Display

Oddly, what’s not on offer here is 45W wired charging, which is supported by last year’s Note 10 Plus, and this year’s S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, via an adapter that Samsung sells separately. A few companies are even toying with 100W charging, but Samsung seems to be taking its time in rolling out truly fast charging. Is this squared-off frame better than a rounded one? That’s highly subjective, but it allows for the S Pen to easily slide straight up into the left side of the phone – a minor change from the right-side slot where previous Note phones had you holster the stylus. The new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the better phone overall, as it offers more advanced cameras and a faster Snapdragon 888 chip. However, ss you'll see in my full Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra review, this is still an excellent device. The Note 20 Ultra also has a larger battery, at 4,500mAh, with support for 25W charging speeds – the Note 20 Ultra can charge up to 50% from empty in just 30 minutes. In our video rundown test, it lasted 18hrs 26mins at native screen resolution, before needing to recharge. Interestingly, if you dial the resolution down to FHD+ but increase the refresh rate to 120Hz, then the Note 20 Ultra’s stamina is decreased by roughly 14%. Speaking of CPU speed. The Global version of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is powered by an Octa-core (2×2.73 GHz Mongoose M5 & 2×2.50 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU while the USA version, Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585). The same is the case with GPU as we see Mali-G77 MP11 and Adreno 650 respectively – see also Samsung Galaxy Note 20. By the way. The storage of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is of UFS 3.1 infrastructure. UFS 3.1 is 3 times faster than UFS 3.0. The performance here will be blazing fast. Camera module

Elsewhere, there’s a healthy 12GB of RAM for multitasking, as well as either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. While the vanilla Note 20 doesn’t have expandable storage, the Ultra model has a microSD slot which can take cards up to 1TB in capacity.Samsung has already wowed us with a 6.9-inch 120Hz display on the S20 Ultra, but the compromise here is the same as with that phone: you have to choose between 120Hz in 1080p, or dropping to 60Hz to enjoy the QuadHD resolution.

Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra feature a range of connectivity including like 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and more. Also, Wireless DeX support converts both models into a mini desktop. The Galaxy Note20 Ultra also allows advanced file transfer between two Galaxy Note users with its Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) support using Nearby Share feature. Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra Price in UAE, USA, and India: The biggest difference here involves storage, and it's a significant handicap for the Note 20. Samsung only ships that phone in a single 128GB configuration; worse, there's no microSD card slot, so the storage that ships with the phone is all you get. You can opt for either a 128GB or 512GB version of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and there's an expansion card slot if that storage isn't enough. Galaxy Note 20 vs. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra battery life Samsung Galaxy Note Ultra 20 features a 10MP selfie camera having an f/2.2 lens. Read full features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra in the table above. Battery Capacity (Typical) : Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4170mAh for Galaxy Note20 and 4370mAh for Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors.Like the Galaxy S20, the Note 20 Ultra can capture video at up to 8K resolution, although you will have to drop the resolution down to 4K if you want to record at 60fps. Samsung has also updated the camera software and you can now enable an on-screen histogram, as well as audio level indicators. The zoom slider has also been improved, and you can now tinker with multi-source mic controls, if you decide to pair the phone with a Bluetooth mic – like the new Galaxy Buds Live.
