When you connect a hdmi source to a HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) capable destination, the source and destination exchange data that: The hdmi splitter I have worked perfectly with my Humax HB1000S and a Humax HD Fox T2 together on both a Samsung tv, and (for experimental purposes) on a Panasonic tv. I have also used my Humax Foxsat HDR with this hdmi splitter without any issues. If you select that mode then it should maintain loop-through in standby. Albeit at the expense of a bit more on your electricity bill. We also press pause and play a few times – a fun game in itself – and are pleased with the sensitivity of this live TV control. The first was from Robert W, who sent an obviously scripted reply that has no relevance to the problem at all:

What I have noticed with power saving in standby set to off is that on wake up for a split second the LED turns blue and immediately red again. Frankly your comments show you have little or no understanding of the issues involved in splitting a HDMI output to multiple devices with differing capabilities.

What our customers are saying

Identifies the video capability of the destination, and informs the source to provide a video format the destination can support. The HDR-2000T's twin tuners allow two channels to be recorded at once but a nice bonus is that you can also watch and timeshift a third channel at the same time. The timeshift buffer lasts up to two hours. If you had understood this, you would have realised that in this case that the simple fix simply ensured that that the two destinations was easily fixed by ensuring that the two destination devices received the virtually universal supported digital audio codec (lpcm stereo). Here is how I can reproduce the symptoms of momentary break up during the switch to active standby, the described activity on the USB ports and the described activity on the HDMI port (all of which I cannot get near reproducing when power saving is 'OFF') ...... : I've just had one of these delivered today and there are no signal problems whatsoever – I can get both BBC and ITV from two different areas, although not the one that I would like for the local news. You can only re-sort channels by listing them alphabetically, but this isn't an issue for me, as my favourites list contains fewer than 30 channels and I can soon skip through them.

Perhaps you would post the two devices you are splitting the signal to, and blaming source rather than the near certainty it's the limitations of the destination kit. HDR-2000T is a Freeview+ box and has limited on demand services. It can however export recordings for use with other kit. (Even HD using a small programme by Raydon). It also has DLNA server and client, so you can remotely view SD recordings on other kit like smart phones and tablets. It can also replay content stored on other kit (like a PC). Additionally it has manual timers and autopadding. It does however appear to have HDMI handshake issues with some TV's. I have asked Humax about this problem and have received replies from two customer service employees. I then ran the test for the third time, still using the new HDMI lead but connected via the Neet HDMI hub. Sure enough 15 minutes before record time, same as happened originally i.e. momentary total signal loss. Device works flawlessly using a splitter. The fault if it is correct to call it that has to be with the loop-through side of the 2T as it's present when no connection by HDMI is present. With power saving in standby set to 'OFF', loop through to the TV remains totally in tact. Neither of the USB ports become active. Even when the recording starts the USB ports remain inactive. Under these circumstances the only way to activate the USB ports is to toggle the 2000T on and then off again, and the USB ports will then remain active until the recording has finished, providing there is not another recording due to start in the subsequent 40 minutes. The Humax Freeview box has the ability to show pictures in Full HD quality for stunning colour and sharpness. On demand and Catch up programmes are also available in HD. Audio output is highlighted by Dolby Digital Plus and Pulse sound, so you get the purest and cleanest cinema sound in your living room. I wish you well, but basically Humax released a box that was incredibly buggy, and even a couple of firmware updates haven't sorted all the major issues with it.
