It’s not exactly consistent, as the new Cadian Castellan model didn’t receive a generic datasheet for example, and there are is also no Cadian specific heavy weapon squad datasheet for the new models, nor a Catachan specific Command Squad datasheet for their plastic kit. And for some reason, the new Field Ordnance Batteries are generic datasheets, although the kit only contains Cadian operator models. So, if you want the new Imperial Guard models and rules, this may be a “must-have” for you. Be sure to watch the video below for all the details! Then, when they charge, they get +2 Strength, and when you add that to a melta tip, they will be getting Strength 8 at that point! Meaning they will hit on 3’s and wound on 2’s versus all T4 models.

Between these three books – the Astra Militarum 8th Edition Codex, Psychic Awakening: The Greater Good, and the Imperial Armour Compendium – you should have all the rules on hand you’ll need for your army. There are many rules and tactics that make the Astra Militarum a compelling force to choose on the battlefield, and, like all the other Warhammer 40k armies, there are a few weaknesses to look out for, too.Assuming it applies to all (or most) of the army’s vehicles, this will make a huge difference to gameplay, as Astra Militarum armies have long suffered competitively from the ease with which infantry-heavy foes can effectively “switch off” much of your firepower simply by charging cheap, weak troops into combat with every tank on the board. For example – do you love ranks of infantry standing firm and firing disciplined volleys in the face of mounting casualties? Choose the Cult of Sacrifice and Parade Drill doctrines to add a touch of die-hard Death Korps determination to the Mordian Iron Guard’s discipline. It turns out that you need quite a few Detachments to fit all those characters in, but we managed it – thanks in large part to a Patrol of Catachans creating space in Ursula Creed’s Battalion. This army shows off the diverse options available to Astra Militarum players, from Death Korps infantry to Attilan cavalry ,*** and will turn some heads when this many egos take to the field at once. Many companies, such as Pig Iron Productions, Victoria Miniatures (whose Guard-flavoured‘Scrapper’s Bag of Bits’ product image you see above, or Anvil Industry also make troops that either focus on accurate historical miniatures, or ones that combine history with science fiction, making their models and conversion bits ideal for your Imperial Guard Conversions. If you want to diversify your forces, some companies offer a wider range of female model options, such as the excellent Bad Squiddo Games. Adding 1 to wound rolls is a welcome addition to the fight against CHAOS – whether your soldiers are gunning down warp-shielded daemons or blood-crazed Space Marines. Although it has several excellent turret options, the Leman Russ and the battle cannon go together like chips and gravy, so tank commanders will be glad to know that this old faithful has had a boost. Then again, if you want to really splatter something from a great distance, the oppressor cannon on the Rogal Dorn cranks the firepower up to the max.

Astra Militarum 10th Edition rules

My problem with them is the sheer amount of detail. This isn’t a squad that costs a whole lot of points, and particularly the vox operator and medic have amounts of detail I’d expect to find on a marine character that. On the upside, you’re unlikely to take multiple of this squad, so you’ll only have to grind through once, and they wont be obviously repeating in your army. Set towards the end of the Sabbat World’s Crusade, this anthology follows the legendary Gaunt’s Ghosts and includes the novels The Warmaster and Anarch , and the short stories This is What Victory Feels Like (Forever the Same) and From There to Here . Can the Tanith First and Only continue their successes on Urdesh, or will the forces of Chaos emerge victorious? Resplendent in golden armour atop his cybernetic horse Konstantin, Lord Solar Leontus is effectively the new ‘big boss’ of the Imperial Guard. So, this means you can still do the Kasrkin MW bomb, no changes to tanks, and no changes to your army ignoring damage. So an interesting take from GW on the first FAQ, only time will tell if they are just getting them ready for the 10th edition change.
