In a short period of time Bates managed to capture the pain, beauty, and magnificence that comes with being queer in today's society. And it just so happened that it was released three days before Taylor spoke at the class of '22's graduation at New York University. there were some beautiful pieces here and there, but overall i thought this book was repetitive and some parts felt kind of like millennial activism. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. What really made this theory take off is Bates’ “Sapphic” content, which made the book catnip to the many, many Taylor Swift fans who have long combed all evidence for signs that Swift is not straight, as she identifies, but actually queer.

If there’s already been a post about this, my apologies I just couldn’t find it and wanted to see people’s thoughts. this is by far one of the best poetry books about love (specially sapphic love) that i have ever read. When I read the pages that had, “No filter” it really pushed through the pages and left an impact on my mind, and with it actually making me feel heartfelt things everyone who reviewed it were talking about I wanted to finish it all in one go. The most obvious clue, of course, is that "Lavender Haze" is also the title of the opening track on Taylor's new album "Midnights. What I really liked and could relate to was when she was having trouble coming out to her family and being rejected not once but many times throughout her life.

Some poems read more like slogans, others like affirmations, and a few like diatribes, but all of them are necessary to understand how “she is the poem.

I did feel such a connection and that's all I needed especially where I'm at mentally and emotionally- I felt she was right beside me cheering me on even if no one else was! The comments on these TikToks mostly consist of sweet young people being very moved by these poems, writing things like “cant wait to find this person” and “i wanted this with him but he didnt want the same 😭😭😭😭.What happens when people decide, for real or semi-jokingly, that you are actually Taylor Swift writing under a pseudonym? They’re heartfelt and plainspoken, like Swift’s lyrics, but they’re very vague, lacking the concrete detail that often distinguishes Swift’s music. This book was pretty mild, but nothing to end up but considering it was the first novel of this author I think it was pretty decent. Is it possible that despite the lack of actual textual congruence between the two oeuvres, Taylor Swift is choosing to come out, a fraught and highly personal decision, by self-publishing a book of unpolished poems under a pen name? With the release of her new album "Midnights," Swift has received an incredible amount of attention on all social media platforms. I usually don't like poetry books that much but this one was so sweet, tender, raw, relatable, and revolutionary.

This book teaches all the people who come across it and read it, to not be afraid of who you are or what you want to be. Outside of people creating new trends with the album, there are also millions of new theories about Swift's music. Slate’s Madison Malone Kircher previously unpacked in Slate this obsessive pattern-seeking by “Gaylors” in relation to the “teasing rhymes” in Swift’s 2021 track “The Very First Night. I guess, Swiftie or not, we’ll have to bear the anticipation of Swift possibly addressing the rumors to find out the truth.
