About this deal

Lastly, the original Mono mix here is worth giving a listen to for the purists out there, but don’t expect it to have too much fidelity, considering it’s in a lossy AC3 codec. The original negative was used and Warner provided three HDR variations for your viewing pleasure: HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. These are iconic performances from all of those actors, as well as every single person that served as a member of the cast. Hasford, along with the help of Kubrick and Michael Herr, would work on co-writing the screenplay adaptation of the novel. Ermey's performances were so faultless that Kubrick only needed two to three takes to get his scenes filmed, which was also extremely rare for a Kubrick film.

the late director's preferred policy of no black bars as his films were routinely shot "safe" for 4x3. Everything in this 4K presentation just feels so much more accurate here with the addition of HDR10 form of high dynamic range.I have to say that I love the fact that film grain has been preserved here and comes through beautifully in the 4K presentation. As you can tell from the comparisons above, still images or the slideshow, there’s a very tasty amount of film grain now visible that has been preserved, some scenes received a bit more color changes than others (namely the last still image further above).

It’s nothing at all bothersome, by no means, but it’s again, just some obvious occasional hiss in the center channel, where the dialogue is delivered. It is an unrelenting voyage into the lives and minds of Marines, from their arrival at training camp – shot meticulously by Douglas Milsome, with nary a hint that all of it – from the Parris Island training camp to Viet Nam – was all shot on location in Vancouver. We get a nice examination of the project in a general way, though anecdotes about Kubrick serve as the show’s highlights. It's quite the opposite in fact, as Kubrick showcased the mundane and dull colors of military life in the first half of the film at the Marine recruit training facility.I have to reward them for putting the audio commentary on the 4K disc, as that really proves to be useful. The HDR grade is subtle, which is good in that it preserves the film’s original look while still adding depth and nuance to its palette—just don’t expect the colors to really pop, or highlights to gleam brightly, as they might on a modern film.

Joker tries to keep Pyle in line, but his slowness and lack of physical stamina provide him with a world of verbal and mental abuse. Not really, but it still proves to be a somewhat impressive surround mix although does have a few limitations and flaws. tagged with 4K restoration, 4K UHD Blu-ray, Adam Baldwin, Arliss Howard, Dorian Harewood, Ed O'Ross, HDR10, John Terry, Jon Stafford, Kevyn Major Howard, Kieron Jecchinis, Matthew Modine, R. The 2007 Blu-ray Disc includes additional bonus materials, which are presented in SD video quality with Dolby Digital 2.

I didn't own this movie on Blu-ray and haven't watched it for a while so it was a pleasure to watch in 4K.
