but i was lucky the wlan card is located near a hole in my laptop bottom near the RAM compartment so i don't need to cut open a new hole. some laptop owners are lucky since the location of the WLAN card is easy to reach while some others don't. most laptop has limited number of usb ports so i don't want to waste the usb port for internet if i could help it. Can be connected to any PCI-E interface device,including graphics, sound card, video card, array, data acquisition card etc.

If you use N series card which over GTS450, and your laptop own Intel Core graphics ,and use the EGPU software to set,then it can use the laptop internal monitor,otherwise,it need to connect with the external monitor.
