If F1 racers are really like this in the three-dimensional world and not just in this fictional one—count me out.I enjoyed the 60% of the book so much because Sophie and Liam were friends and all the tension and lust made everything hot and all but the moment they give in to this sexual tension between them and became friends with benefits I kinda lost my interest in the story. But I hated how she never made her own decisions in her life when she clearly wasn't liking what her father made her study for. it didn't even make sense because he'd just start being extremely overdramatic and he never made it past the 2nd stage of grief because he needs to be a troubled bad boy because GOD FORBID ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THESE SHITTY ROMANCE BOOKS NOT HAVE SOME UNNECESSARY, BADLY WRITTEN PAST TRAUMA. This book rips you up pretty early on 😭 I didn’t realise the book would run on the same timeline as book two, and normally wouldn’t really like, but this author nails it. For months they were tip toeing around each other, playing mind games and all because Sophie was scared to give in to this attraction between them and Liam never wanted to involve any feelings between their friendship.

I got to like 85% (by literally forcing myself), but when I started to feel the 🔆crawl🔆 of the misunderstanding trope I just gave tf up. the beginning was so fucking amazing, i mean honestly, i was so hooked and then it just kinda kept getting worse (in a boring way).i don't really like friends to lovers like in this book (the ones where they like each other but pretend they dont so they put up a friends label bc besties you weren't friends before you guys started liking each other). Like the destructive yellow orb in the sky, she eats away at my protective layer while lighting up my darkest corners. I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED at how she can have this strange college experience when she should be having a normal one full of drugs, alcohol, skipping ALL of her classes, NEVER setting foot into her dorm, having sex every 2 hours. She (sophie) laughs as she pulls up the hem of her long gown to reveal a pair of white leather sneakers with embroidered stars.
