The very fact that Chu Wanning later falls in love with and gets together with his abuser (even if he does not remember as of now) by itself throws me off.

If the author wanted to make us believe that Mo Ran was sorry they wouldn't have shown him getting turned on while reminiscing about him raping his shizun. Those who have not been reincarnation dilution of persistence, always in the long life, get love again and again embrace. For my first point, in a literary and psychological point of view, the use of a main character that's the abuser usually makes the reader sympathize with him/her. At first he thought, dogs should be with dogs, like his shixiong, beautiful and tame like a cute Japanese Spitz, and the two of them together would surely be a match made in heaven. This time, he vows to attain the gratification that once eluded him: all who defied him will fall, and never again will they treat him like a dog. In fact, I knew I should have guarded my heart, but like a fool, I bore through the wind and rain, shed sweat and cried blood before delivering my beating organ on a silver platter to meatbun (author). To his surprise, Mo Ran awakens in his own body at age sixteen, years before he ever began his bloody conquests. There are many details that left me wanting more, like the demon vs human relations, the rifts between worlds, and the use of time travel, all of which contributed to the plot and made for a very fun kind of action adventure story. There are so many angst that by the time I finished reading I've filled three full buckets of tears.

Pairing the gong MC with the author's writing skills that evoke emotions, it's no wonder that some might like this novel. I picked up the novel partially because I saw it's very popular and people seemed to like it a lot, upon reading the premise I found it interesting and was curious about it so I decided to check it out. I’m probably biased because I wanted, needed to see Mo Ran realize he should be adoring Chu Wanning instead-come on, who in their right mind would choose Shi Mei when you could choose CWN?

I absolutely loved the noncon scenes in this, especially since they were dripping with confusion and conflicted emotions rife with humiliation warring with affection.

We get a superficial glance at the side stories, and throughout the arc, detail by shocking detail is exposed and we end up with a deeper insight into the lives of the side characters, discovering that there's more to the story than what meets the eye. At first this story seems like your usual rebirth MC novels BUT as the story progressed and the plot revealed, it was full of twist and turns that take you into roller coaster of feels. He originally thought that dogs should be with dogs, like his senior brother, who was beautiful and docile, like a cute Japanese Spitz. I'm all for unconditional love and happy endings, but I found ML's unconditional love for the MC unbearable, because unconditional love doesn't work very well when it meets conditional love and abuse. This is a fictional story, it's not real and it can be idealistic or have all sorts of ideas that can't be recognised in real life - not to mention people losing first times to each other or having past relationships is quite normal and common in real life too, so that aspect isn't a stretch at all? For the characters, all of the characters themselves are told very real, there is no characters thats look to exaggerated or looks unreal. I would understand if anyone hates him, but I couldn’t help but connect with the villain’s thoughts. He thought it was only the satisfaction of seeing him suffer, until Chu Wanning dies and Mo Ran realizes his whole reason for existence perished with his shizun.
