Exactly what I needed right now and something I'll always love about fantasy books: a magical world, an evil ruthless villain, a kick-ass main character who meets someone that helps her grow in finding herself.

Ever since reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series, I have been a fan of Fae romances (check out my spoiler free review of the series). However, I have seldom encountered one that I love as much as I loved Court of Blood and Bindings< by Lisette Marshall.En evil Queen , well developed supporting characters that stand out despite their brief appearance and of course a fast paced enemies to lovers plot with plenty of intrigue , Fae court machinations with twists and turns . A much-used word, karma is loosely understood as a system of checks and balances in our lives, of good actions and bad deeds, of good thoughts and bad intentions. After centuries of being the fae Mother’s most trusted assassin, Creon’s reputation is well-deserved. Otherwise, you have what happened here where everything is about her and our assassin is like a fly buzzing by every now and again.

Beautifully complex and very much morally grey - if only his character was given more time to open up. She’s arrested and – at Creon’s request – blames Creon, who is then arrested and tortured for being a traitor. Book one, Prince of the Sorrows, tells the tale of a human changeling who is desperately trying to stay in the Faerie realm. We all know I have a soft spot for fantasy romance by now, especially if it involves fae, so I might be biased.I let myself plummet, into the unfathomable, bottomless depths of my heart, and trusted his arms to catch me. Lisette Marshall has delivered a powerful start to the Fae Isles series, a wonderfully intense fantasy story with magic, intrigue, politics, all sorts of supernatural beings, and an absolutely kickass lead couple (brave and feisty heroine, a broody, almost-anti-hero with secrets), enemies-to-lovers, fake-romance, and so much chemistry and sexual tension, I almost couldn’t stand it. This deeply personal and supportive series offers listeners an honest and relatable insight into how some the UK's best-known celebrities have coped with mental health difficulties, ranging from OCD to insomnia, addiction to grief, and depression to anxiety.

I can’t wait to explore more of the world and magic because I feel like I was given enough info to continue, but definitely need more to be satisfied. That being said, if you haven’t read this series yet, the very beginning of both books takes a brief minute before you get into it.At the very beginning I found myself going “yes, ok go on go on let’s get the ball rolling here” but once it does a couple chapters in- it is well worth the wait. There are quite some famous tropes in this novel, like enemies-to-lovers, there’s-only-one-bed, and fake relationship. Finally, he was protector, but not an overbearing alpha kind of guy (not enough for my taste to be honest), he just want to support her. Caught using forbidden magic, Emelin is captured by the Silent Death and brought to the Crimson Court, where she learns more about the Silent Death and bargains with him.
