Description

The massager is quite powerful and vibrates deep into the muscle, so I found it was best to start on the slowest setting and work up. It's not like I don't like Hyperice; on the contrary, in my humble opinion, the original Hypervolt was one of the quietest massage guns on the market at the time. I used the flat attachment for most of my time testing the massage gun, as I found the bullet head to be a little intense.

Coop finds the Hypervolt Go to be plenty powerful for a mini massage gun, and he loves that it’s super quiet. The Hypervolt Go 2, now available in a stylish matte black finish, is the ultimate portable massager designed to cater to your active lifestyle. I think the success of this product stems primarily from brand recognition and Hyperice’s solid footing in the workout recovery space. More: At work or working from home, at the gym, or trailside on your run, Hypervolt helps you move better and do more. The massage gun has two heads, a flat attachment for larger areas like your quads and hamstrings and a smaller bullet head for hips and shoulders.

It’s also got a more traditional massage gun design, which allows you to hold it in different positions to really work into tired, sore muscles. Again, as I mentioned above, there’s no carry case for these little attachments, but if I was traveling, I’d probably leave the bullet head at home. Here at healf we do the work for you, every product goes through a 3 step curation process of Discovery, Expert Validation, and Community Testing. It costs around the same as the Theragun Mini, but unlike the mini, it comes with two different attachments, has a 180-minute battery life (compared to the Mini’s 150-minutes), and has a top speed of 3,200 pulsations per minute (compared to the Mini’s 2,400).

As he put it: “I love that I can use this massage gun in the same room as my wife without bothering her. It was also really useful seeing a person using the tool, giving me the confidence to try it out properly and knowing I was using it correctly. The Hypervolt Go 2 is equipped with Hyperice’s patented QuietGlide® technology which means a near-silent operation – so your music, podcast, or conversation never has to stop. The ergonomic handle was comfortable and easy to maneuver, and I liked that I was able to massage hard-to-reach places without needing to twist around or ask for help.Unlike the more expensive Hypervolt 2 and Hypervolt 2 Pro, the Hypervolt Go does not have any smart features.

I could see why some people might like the app — especially the HyperSmart connectivity that allows you to link the app to your Strava, Apple Health, or Garmin — but the HyperSmart Score was a little clunky. These are things consumers want to know about percussive devices—especially ones that claim to provide a deep tissue massage—and these specs should be easily accessible. Hyperice does recommend you give the massage gun a four-hour charge before using it for the first time, although during testing, it only took an hour for the gun to charge. The device comes with two attachments, a flat disk and a pointy bullet, and can be used at three speeds up to 3,200 percussions per minute.

It has a 40-watt motor that powers three percussion speed settings and it comes with two interchangeable massage head attachments. The battery-level LED band stayed where it was on the original GO, but there are new LED speed sensors at the back.

If your wrists, hands, or forearms are shot after a tough workout, you might find it a little difficult to hold on tightly. There’s an app for that: Hit all the right muscles and master the timing and intensity of your sessions with guided routines in the Hyperice App. That said, I liked the in-app timer and the video demonstration with a voice-over that gave me instructions and tips. There are three speeds to choose from, and you only need to tap the button on the back to switch between each one, with convenient LED lights showing which level you’re on.
