Description

As said, wouldn't build a house with one,but great for smaller jobs - and would now feel a lot more confident with a trowel and mortar to be able to do without. Yes its ok for the lay man, but to say a bricklayer would use it is a load of old tosh no bricklayer worth his salt would do 10mm beds, 10 mm bed would only work with bricks that would be 65mm deep, i have used brick that are 68 deep i then had to make the beds 7mm deep, again with brickies mate i would be 3mm + out of gauge, after 28 courses i would be 84mm + out of gauge. The Bricky Pro is for DIY builders who want to build walls with neat, uniform, clean joints with no waste or mess. You would spend 7 times the cost of the tool, for a proper bricky for a day, so to make it pay, you would have to lay 300+ bricks a day, for 3 days.

I used it in Australia with a brick width of 90 and found it a bit difficult to use as it has been designed for a brick size of 110mm. The Pro- Pointer is the answer to striking between the joint no matter that variance, just flip it around as you go.

Work it out for your self, the same applies to linear brick work,225,450,750,900,if i have bricks that are 212 i make a 13mm perp to get back to linear gauge 212+13= 225 again it says the perfect 10mm perp on the bricks, by using the perfect perp you are - 3mm short on 225mm which is what it should me, so after 30 bricks you would be out 60mm. Bit tricky doing one of cavity walls with insulation and wall ties in place but managed would have helped in sides slightly thinner . I'm also surprised that some of those same brickies display such a clear level of misunderstanding about the Bricky tool itself. All good take your time when starting out, the bricky pro will keep your brickwork clean and the mortar beds uniformed.

Getting the right thickness of mortar between the brick is also really important, and again the Bricky Pro helps you with that. Do not redistribute any products before they have arrived with you as inventory may vary and/or items might need repairs. Items are untested and unsorted by Jobalots and may be damaged, coming directly from the source company. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).Great kit for 1st time user, and even though I am trying to match the thickness of the cement to existing I have found this is possible too, making cement taller by more than the normal level, or slimming if needed too. I don't agree with just laying the brick/block on the bed, the brick/block should be tapped, to bed it in properly. Also, let's not forget that while the Bricky can only handle recessed joints, it also helps hugely in preventing snots in cavity wall construction. All products will need to be checked, and in some cases repaired to current safety standards before resale.
