I've personally had no trouble with it (though it seemed generally stiff at first) - it does appear to open a little better with more-use, like most books. A good review of an important work, contact sheets could give a very good idea of the decision making process of a photographer in terms of rhythm and framing and how the selected image may look extraordinary when compared to the raw contact after manipulations in the darkroom. Książka jest duża, a została zapakowana w liche pudełko, które łatwo zostało uszkodzone, oraz wypełnienie kawałkiem papieru. I’m going to jump forward to 1964 and an entry by David Hurn in which he was photographing the Beatles.

I've seen other reviews mentioning that you will learn from this book and it will improve your photography, but what you will not learn is anything about equipment used or exposure settings and the like. contact sheets, representing 69 photographers, are featured, as well as zoom-in details, selected photographs, press cards, notebooks and spreads from contemporary publications, including Life magazine and Picture Post. A few shots from the reverse angle, with Sunbathing Woman and Push-Up Man in the foreground and Hammock Boy in the background. When I was a young film newbie I had two experiences that have remained high points throughout my life. We hope you enjoyed this review; if you’re interested in reading about photography, you’re welcome to join our Facebook group, Photography Books and Theory.High above Paris, Marc Riboud’s Eiffel Tower Painter (1953) dances with his paintbrush – hat tilted at a jaunty angle, a cigarette dangling from his lips. I assumed he drew them with his contacts sheets as reference, but that’s not the case: “I sketch as soon as possible after taking a shot, usually at the scene itself. I would have selected the first one myself, but the photographer is right, I'd never considered that the moment of something about to happen is more powerful than the event taking place. Despite the fact it's full of beautiful big photos on quality paper (150gsm matt art) many of which you will have seen before if you're serious about photography, I am a little disappointed with the selection of some of them.

I hoped that somebody would take care of me and take me away … there were three of us photographers present. Two shots just of him and his shadow, but then she recomposes to include the figures in the background. this book lays bare the creative methods, strategies and editing processes behind some of the world’s most iconic images. I think I have got more out of these reflections, and from careful perusal of the contact sheets, than I have from many technical books about photography. This books allows us to see the mixture of talent, chance, watchfulness and diligence behind each successful picture.

This book is a fantastic look into the world of some of the most incredible photographers there has ever been - some of the most amazing photographs ever taken, a true insight into the photographers' processes of creating an image, set-aside the wonderful, and sometimes touching, stories behind the photos themselves. This is why I don’t enjoy using point and shoot film cameras and why I love scrolling back on my phone to pictures of my children as tiny babies. i saw an exhibition of these contact sheets at FOAM in Amsterdam and I think it's an excellent and interesting way into how other people see things, how we edit in the moment and later. Its amusing to me that Contact sheets are now available as stand alone works of art, even I have enlarged a contact sheet to display as “art” a kind of mini movie of 36 frames.
