If you're planning a camping trip with a big group, the HI-GEAR Vanguard Nightfall 8 Tent is an excellent option.

It gets lots of attention of the campsites because of its sheer size and we had quite a few visitors for a look around inside and there was a lot of tent envy going on .

It takes under an hour to pitch and is fairly easy to do although the steel poles are a little heavy. Overall, I’d rate this tent a 8/10 for the tent, 10/10 for the other accessories and a 4/10 for the porch.

We raced back to Go Outdoors to take their awful Outwell tent back to them and in fairness had no issues, with the offer of a refund or replacement (as you would expect). The only downside is the main door has two side zips, relying on the inner mesh to close the bottom of, this can flap in the wind so we've put some velcro across the bottom, and the carpet has no way of securing it, leading to it slipping and sliding, velcro again,problem solved. As others have mentioned there is quite a bit of tent envy when on site, and you do get a few visitors who want to have a nose round. The tent is huge which is a godsend when you have a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old who can't play out because of the stair rods.

The tent is well made, with plenty of windows and superb ventilation, three rooms run across the rear of the tent, one big room in the centre, two doubles on either side, a great feature is the ability to unzip the dividing walls on either side, or completely remove the two side rooms leaving more space, again with a zip. The Nightfall bedrooms are a unique feature of this tent, designed to keep the sunlight out, allowing you to sleep in longer. It would be better in there was a cable entry point on both sides of the tent, because of the way we had to have out tent pitched, our 10m electric lead was barely long enough to reach in, so we had to run an additional extension lead off of it just to plug in the light and the coolbox we had.

The Zenobia Nightfall 8 person tent will provide sufficient space for friends and family, or if you need something smaller, the Hampton 4 is ideal. The living space at the front of the tent is large enough for an inflatable sofa 2 tables and a cupboard without being too pushed for space.
