In summary the Foldabrella is not too heavy at under 2kg, provides plenty of high factor shade, is reasonably robust and above all, at under 73cm long, fits in our case. In conclusion, a large foldabrella beach umbrella is more than just a shade provider; it's an investment in your outdoor comfort and enjoyment. Due to the nature of this design, the upper 1/3rd of the parasol shaft can be locked into place at an angle, thus allowing some flexibility, for when the sun isn't directly overhead etc.Bought this for a holiday where we were told there were not many umbrellas available and I am glad we took it.

Used for 2 weeks on a beach holiday, OK until there was a gust of wind and the umbrella blew inside out tearing one of the ties tying a spoke to the fabric and also tore a hole on the fabric of the umbrella releasing the plastic end that goes in the end of a spoke weakening the structure of the spokes.It offers good shade in sunshine, is sturdy in gusty weather (anchored well in the sand) and was an excellent shelter when the rain came. Very easy to use and in particular I like the fact that the carrying case isn’t, like so many portable/folding items, so small/tight that having taking it off for the first time, you can never get it back in again. To my mind the teeth look a little fragile, and, if the wing-nut is not tightened sufficiently (to lock the teethed wheels together), these teeth might break off with a sufficiently high gust of wind.
