No matter – lots of people have families without getting married these days, although she’d mentioned a husband. Suddenly, all of Patrick’s past indiscretions are laid bare for everyone to see, jeopardizing his career and the life he has built. And yet, this book is full of these loonies, and we are forced to read about them overreacting to every little thing, having paranoid breakdowns, and making one bad decision after another. The End of Her, by Shari Lapena, starts out with an already sleep deprived and frazzled set of parents because their twin baby daughters seem to be stuck in a colicy stage that lasts months.

However, I abhorred the character of Stephanie, who may be the only one who’s supposed to be likable. She arrives back into his life, accusing him of murdering his first wife, Lindsey and she is making Stephanie doubt her own husband's character. What happens when a woman from Patrick's past comes back raising questions on the death of his first wife? How did Shari Lapena managed to pack all the tropes in one story and still manage to make it completely engrossing? The last thing this poor couple needs is even more trouble, but that’s exactly what turns up in the form of Erica, the best friend of Patrick’s first wife Lindsey, who had died years before in a tragic accident.Patrick is afraid his job–and his reputation–will be at risk if he doesn’t put an end to Erica’s questioning immediately. The alarm is still shrieking, but it's not the one in the kitchen that's going off, she realizes-it's the alarm upstairs. Stephanie, who is battling brain fog due to sleep deprivation, is constantly questioning what is real. The End of Her asks the same question that many other domestic suspense thrillers about married couples do: Just how well do you know your spouse?

However, the bulk of the story delivers; intriguing enough to keep going, and not 100 per cent predictable. She turns to face the fire and the flames are higher now, licking toward the ceiling, but the ceiling hasn't yet caught fire. With suspicions, theories, risky dealings and matters of the heart to contend with, The End of Her proved to be quite the brain teaser, which did infuriate me at times! But, this book is still a page turner and does a good job of keeping the reader in suspense from beginning to end. Her thrillers A Stranger in the House, An Unwanted Guest, Someone We Know and The End of Her were all Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers.

You can’t just build up your main character the whole book to be this quiet, super boring, sleep-deprived mom and then on page 315 decide she’s gonna be a COLD BLOODED KILLER.I have read two of Lapena’s previous novels and I have another couple sitting on my TBR shelves to catch up on. She turns to face the fire and the flames are higher now, licking towards the ceiling, but the ceiling hasn’t yet caught fire. Stephanie had always been a little bit of a control freak, and she’d spent a lot of time on her birth plan, wanting everything to go just right. The version I like goes like this, the as a single system fed to users through servers and the internet, OS1 was quickly evolving, a interacting with thousands of people every single second was probably too overwhelming in a sense that it was going to change the future of interaction, probably put an end to population growth and the feds might have stepped in and forced the developers to shut it down.
