Description

The TP-Link EAP615-Wall delivers dual-band speeds of up to 18 Gbps powered by the latest WiFi 6 technology, guaranteeing strong signals and corner-to-corner WiFi coverage in each room. Even so, while the EAP610 is your regular ceiling-mount AP, the EAP615-Wall is designed to be mounted on a wall and provide pass-through PoE for a secondary device. The EAP615-Wall (v1) uses an XMC XM25QH128A flash chip in standard SO-8 (208mil) package, with the standard pinout for that package. There are two RF cages, one on the wifi section (bottom) and one on the CPU (top), snapped on with metal pins.

The TP-Link EAP615-Wall is a sort of successor to the EAP235-Wall plate WiFi 5 access point, sporting a very similar design and look, but the upgrade to the WiFi 6 standard has brought a few significant improvements. If you need to create a larger network in an office where the APs can go on the ceiling without needing to connect wired clients, then the TP-Link EAP610 is the better choice. The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. Please refer to the terms and conditions for the manufacturer's warranty or contact the manufacturer. Future proof Your Network with WiFi 6 Connectivity - Connect more devices at the same time with WiFi 6 speeds of up to 1800 Mbps.

The complete in-room WiFi coverage guarantees strong signals and corner-to-corner WiFi coverage in each room. After connecting the same AX200 client device to the TP-Link EAP615-Wall, I noticed that, while the throughput wasn’t as good at 5 feet, it did prove far more consistent up to 45 feet. But, to use these features, it’s absolutely necessary to have compatible client devices because going a WiFi standard below (WiFi 5 or lower), the support will be gone. But, when putting the TP-Link EAP610 and the EAP615-Wall next to each other, the latter is still more compact.

But, in terms of ports, the EAP615-Wall is better equipped, sporting not one, but four Ethernet ports, the first two being Gigabit and used for connecting client devices, while the third is PoE Out (yes, also Gigabit). If you don’t connect that many compatible WiFi 6 devices, then you should see an overall better performance with the TP-Link EAP615-Wall. The EAP615-Wall features full Gigabit ports to bridge the network and four data ports (1 x uplink and 3 x downlink) to transfer data at multiple gigabits.I was able to power up every access point that I have available, including the EAP670 and the EAP660 HD, but do be aware that on a higher load, the devices may disconnect from the EAP610-Wall. One of the downlink ports offers PoE pass-through ‡ to eliminate the need for that extra power port. The TP-Link EAP615-Wall uses pretty much the same features to enhance the WiFi performance as the other two AX1800 WiFi 6 access points that I tested ( the EAP610 and the EAP610-Outdoor).
