Ian played 157 times for Albion from 1975 to 1981 scoring 52 times and was player-manager for the last three of those years taking over from Phil Waller before handing over to Neil Warnock. His sensational on-off transfer to Derby County for a British record fee was front-page news eventually joining Manchester United instead. In 1972, he moved to Manchester United, but his league career was brought to an early end by injury in 1974. Since the photos are old press photographs they may have scratches, lines, or other wears of time, which just underlines the authenticity and age of the photos.

It also generally paints a vivid picture of what football in England, and indeed life in England in general, was like in the 1960s and 1970s. Unfortunately, I had the bad injury there and I’m sure if I had been playing today, they would have rectified it, but they didn’t have the facilities in those days. He played for Burton for three seasons from 1974 to 1977, including a spell at North American Soccer League side Chicago Sting in 1975, before moving to Shepshed Charterhouse for his first managerial role in 1977. Oh, and a lovely foreword from Martin O’Neill (carefully written by hand, like his own autobiography, and dictated to us!Stuart and Richard are very nice people and eventually I agreed for them to get on with it and now here it is and I have all the signings and podcast to do. There's been dozens of titles written documenting Brian Clough's 18 years as the Reds manager, and understandably so. Anyway, apologies for starting off with a blatant plug (it feels awkward…), but I know this will be of interest to a lot of forum members. Superstar Speakers have raised awareness and tens of thousands of pounds in donations for different charities and good causes. A riveting tale of a shy, young, skinny lad from Scunthorpe whose exploits on the pitch, achieved through hard work, perseverance, the help and encouragement of others and a prodigious talent, are still talked about today.

My lasting memory is Ian tearing down the wing with power and pace and then unleashing a canonball shot. BURTON Albion has completed the signing of MK Dons forward Jonathan Leko on-loan until the end of the season. games from the wing over a decade, for a team who spent most of that time struggling, and alas injury meant we never got to see him in his peak years (28-33) and who’d have won far more caps but for being a wing wonder in Ramsey’s age of wingless wonders.Biography: Capped by England he became successful businessman in Nottingham where he was a publican and owned a bookmakers but is now chief scout at Aston Villa having previously had same role at the City Ground.
