I have several friends who previously wouldn’t look twice at a game with a zombie theme but who love Dead of Winter. So on every turn, players move throughout the ship using the movement cards, trying to obtain items to help them along the way. Some cyberware is even better, but it requires certain classes of cards to have been played that turn to activate it. Clank in Space: Cyber Station 11 was designed by Evan Lorentz and Tim McNight with artwork by a fair number of people (check the BGG page linked above).

I just love the deckbuilding aspects, how the board works, and how you can end the game without any points. This standalone game sees players sneak into Lord Eradikus's dark flagship to steal his artifacts, while trying to stay quiet enough to avoid sealing their own doom. Depending on the stage of the game, a certain number of cubes get drawn out of the bag and turned immediately into wounds! If they reach the end of their track before the end of the game, they are knocked out and are unable to complete the journey. The component quality is good, but the nature of a deck builder means a lot of shuffling, so I would advise sleeving the cards anyway.Everyone begins with 10 starting cards that provide basic movement or the unfortunate-yet-necessary Stumble card to generate CLANK.

The longer you spend running around the ship, the more points you accumulate, but the riskier it gets. The Artifacts with the higher points are in harder to reach spaces, so they come with their own risk. The Danger Theater and the Race Track both use the “lightcycle” pieces to track your progress in these arenas as you amass 3+ Clank in a turn (Danger Theater) or acquire/defeat additional cards in the adventure row (Race Track). we put on all the artifacts, secrets (of the minor and major variety) and set up the market and bank.Up to 4 players sneak aboard Lord Eradikus’s ship and plot to steal some of his precious artifacts and try to make it back to the escape pods to freedom. The artwork is playful, and the game is colorful, but the components still look relatively realistic between the credit chips, market items, and spaceship board. And it came to pass that throughout the land there came such a clamouring for this game about keeping quiet that it sold out before I could get a review copy. Cards in the deck include some very familiar (and funny) science fiction tropes and characters which can give you some special abilities, while the introduction of Factions means that with a carefully-built deck you can unlock some truly awesome skills and effects.
