This book is a lot of fun to read with the bright visuals and rhyming phrases, especially the seamless addition of other languages. I love that the focus isn't just on what the footwear looks like, but what the people are doing as they go about their day in the city - bouncing, waiting for a bus, dancing, playing hopscotch, waiting in line, dragging as they get tired. I will be using as a pre-K - 2nd grade read aloud to build in movement (you can having kids act out the movement words on each page while reading: shuffling, creeping, bouncing, etc) to build vocabulary, community and springboard into conversations about noticing and appreciating differences. It shows the city from a toddler's point of view, a fast-paced, syncopated, colorful parade of all kinds of feet and footwear -- along with some surprises!But since she has not yet been officially, announced, I think I have to keep it to myself for now…stay tuned!
