The Book is about a Badger who knows that he is close to the end of his life but he is not scared about dying.

I have read and re-read the book many times since then, in both French and English, and have given countless copies away. The story does not conceal the feeling of sadness that comes with when someone is suferring from a loss, but it beautifully encourages positive attitides to dealing with such a topic. This is a poignant and touching story about a Badger who is very old and has accepted that he will soon die. When he finally passes away, they are grief-stricken, but one by one they remember the special things he taught them during his life.
