In this book the action level is set to high with a killer code and assassins on the loose, desperate to find it. The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the award-winning Adventures on Trains series written by M. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! Even as an adult I was gripped by this tale, the last thirty pages leaving me on the edge of my seat and making an incredible showdown between them and the villain. Alongside his writing, Sam worked as an award-winning digital content producer for the National Theatre, as a playwright and freelance journalist, and once ran a company designing murder mystery treasure hunts for adventurous Londoners.

Hal has been happily developing his own arc and growing as a character, leading me to fear that he was going to suffer an Alex Rider style comedown in his final outing as the realities of the adult world become to real. This series has been bubbling along for what feels like a long time, but it is just the relentlessly consistent high expectations that have driven it to the front of so many reading lists.Hal and Uncle Nat are travelling to see the Northern Lights during the festive season, and as the title may suggest, yup, there's an assassin aboot!

The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the award-winning Adventures on Trains series. Whilst reading, the book was so quick paced and raring to go, I felt I had to read quick to keep up. The wintry, Christmas-time atmosphere, the constant threat of avalanche, and amazing locations like Kungsträdgården Station and the Ice Hotel make this much more than a suspenseful, fast-paced adventure. Hal and Uncle Nat travel to Sweden, boarding the overnight train to Narvik, the northernmost station in Europe, to see the Northern Lights just before Christmas.

It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. A wonderful book in a great series which would excite the imaginations of many a young reader (and plenty of older ones too!

It’s not just the flattened ear of a fellow aeroplane passenger, nor is it the theft of Uncle Nat’s phone. Then again, there’s another, unexpected helper, who turns up on her hunch that something is seriously wrong for Hal and his uncle. When they are able to board the train is about to leave when a strange looking woman in a puffy ski jacket and bobble hat with carrier bags in her hands runs for the train. Whilst waiting for the Narvik train he draws an orchestral group, one of the players sees and introduces herself. Bookwagon loves and recommends it, and all the preceding titles, highly as a superb reading experience for all!
