Based on natural plant oils and waxes (sunflower oil, soya oil, thistle oil, carnauba wax and candelilla wax), paraffin, siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives. Dearomatized white spirit (benzene-free)

The emphasis on the wood’s grain and natural characteristics provide a warm and rich effect to ensure that any interior looks luxurious and elegant. Not only suitable for wooden flooring, Osmo Polyx Oil Effect Raw - 3044 is also perfect for using on wooden doors, kitchen worktops, furniture and more. The original clear hard wax oil designed for most wooden floors & surfaces. Available in Satin, Matt, Semi-Matt and Glossy So when you are happy with your test areas and ready to apply. Start by giving the tin a good stir before and periodically during application to prevent inconsistencies in the finish. Then it’s as simple as loading the brush dabbing off any excess and applying thinly, working with the grain and in manageable areas. Once applied remove any excess with a microfibre cloth and leave to dry. For extractive rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended. My first recommendation will be to take a look at the Manns Classic Pine Stain and the reason for this is versatility. This is a water based stain, it will soak into the woods surface and colour it, there is a wide range of colour options and you are able to intermix these colours to create new ones. You also have the benefit of sample sizes, so you are able to select a few and try some small test areas on your wood. And this will be vital as the wood type, age and condition will all impact on the colour result that will be achieved. If you do get into mixing the colours, then be sure to record ratios and measure exactly so that future larger mixes will be the same. Occasional Maintenance: If the oiled surface remains light in colour yet there is a reduction in water repellency, refresh the surface with Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079 Clear Matt. Before using Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079, damp clean the surface using diluted Osmo Wash and Care, or alternatively Osmo Spray cleaner and allow to fully dry. For small areas Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079 can be applied thinly with a lint free cloth or white pad. Remove excess product. Allow for good ventilation while drying. A small trial is highly recommended first. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, tea, fruit juice, milk and water (In accordance to DIN 68861-1A – no water spots) The white build up could be a couple of issues, if you have used the Osmo Polyx Oil Raw , this product has a small amount of white pigment to counteract the darkening you get with a clear oil. Against a darker wood the white will show through and you get that milky appearance. Please Note: Oiled or waxed surfaces should not be cleaned with a steam cleaner or steam mop as these will degrade or potentially strip the oiled finish. Renovation

New untreated wood in its original form has a light, pale character from its natural 'raw' appearance. Sanded wood also has this effect. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw is designed to retain this appearance by using a small amount of white pigments to counteract the darker 'damp-look' that develops after application of a clear oil or varnish finish. Clear oils can darken the appearance of the wood. To retain the light character of oak please use Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw. What I can tell you is that easy marking is a sign of over or under application of the oil, over application being the most common. Over application can be too much oil applied to the surface, or because the wood is a tight grained, hardwood, or because it has been over sanded and this has closed the grain. In addition to its practical benefits, Polyx-Oil Effect is also easy to apply. It can be used on a variety of wood surfaces, including floors, doors, and furniture. Simply clean and sand the surface, apply the oil using a cloth or roller, and allow it to dry. The result is a beautiful, natural finish that will last for years to come. For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended.

Osmo Polyx Oil is the original hard wax oil a combination of natural oils and waxes for use on almost any interior project. Hard Wax Oil is almost as hard as a varnish but easier to repair. All you need is a rag apply the oil over the affected areas without having to remove any previous finish. For Cork surfaces, due to their high absorbency please ensure that the wood finish is applied thinly. Longer drying times are to be taken into consideration (at least 24 hours). Tinting: Osmo Wood Wax Finish can also be used to lightly tint Polyx®-Oil 3054 up to a ratio of 10:1. Do not exceed a ratio of 10 parts Polyx®-Oil 3054 to 1 part Wood Wax Finish. Yes, over-application of wood oil can be easily remedied by dampening a clean, lint free cloth in white spirit and wiping off the excess oil. Take care not to use too much white spirit and wipe in the direction of the wood grain. This will break down and remove the surplus oil from the surface of the wood.
