I received a sample of the Signe with an oak base (Image credit: Future / Jennifer Oksien) Philips Hue Gradient Signe review: Performance Open that box and you are presented with the lamp itself, which looks like a super large white lightsaber connected to a cylindrical base. Through the app, you can also set a routine: Wake Up, Go to Sleep and Timers. I set up a Wake Up routine, with the lamp turning on at 06.30, gradually getting brighter until 06:50 when I'd get out of bed. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of this – with a toddler that frequently wakes through the night, I need all the sleep I can get; but I can see how others would like it.

And even though you can only freely set three segments so far, the automatically generated colour gradients display significantly more colours. In my test, I was able to count ten individual colours that can be displayed by the Hue Gradient Signe floor lamp. It's time for a little cheering up. Even though the new Philips Hue Gradient Signe so far only allows the selection of three segments instead of the promised five segments in Ambiance mode, the colour gradients just look fantastic. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste, but I really like the new possibilities. But it's one hell of a cool lamp, and its build quality makes it feel less like a techy novelty and more like a high-end piece of furniture. Aside from the price and my quibbles with its base (which you only apply if you intend to use it on carpeting), I can't think of much I'd change about it. What’s the difference between the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp and the regular Signe lamps? This is what you can do with the Philips Hue app when connected via the Hue Bridge (Image credit: Future / Jennifer Oksien) Philips Hue Gradient Signe table lamp review: Connecting to Alexa

So at night time the Gradient Signe really pops. Imagine a lightsaber being lit up in a dark cave. And that's great for adding mood to rooms in the twilight hours or, excitedly for anyone who also invests in a Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, incredible extra synchronized mood lighting for movies, TV shows, or playing video games. Being in the UK, I was sent the UK and EU version of the lamp (a US version is also available), which meant I had a UK and EU plug to switch between. The lamp arrived with the EU plug attached, but switching this to the UK plug was simply a matter of sliding the EU plug upwards to release, and replacing with the UK version. The Philips Hue Signe gradient floor lamp is another example of Hue’s great design and smart home savvy, brought to life in a way that can light up any room, either as a standalone device or as part of a chorus of Hue accessories. Almost exactly one month ago I introduced you to the large Hue Gradient Signe floor lamp, today I would like to take a look at the small model together with you. How does the Philips Hue Gradient Signe table lamp perform in everyday life and what are the changes compared to the previous model? Get a gradient of colourful light with the Signe Gradient floor lamp from Philips Hue. Create dynamic light scenes that blend any of millions of colours. You can control it directly from your smart device with Bluetooth, add the Hue Bridge for full connected smart light features, and even sync it to your TV for lighting that matches your home entertainment with the Hue Sync box. The Hue Bridge and Sync box are both sold separately.

Philips Hue Surimu: Trying out the small ceiling light A rather unexciting thing 18. August 2023 - 12:41 Fabian 2 Comments on Philips Hue Surimu: Trying out the small ceiling light A rather unexciting thing auf Deutsch lesen

For me personally, I think a pair of Gradient Signe's positioned behind my sofa, linked up to a Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, would be where they'd fit in best physically, as they'd be ideal as powerful mood lighters for movies, TV shows and games. Viewing the various scenes in the Hue Scene Gallery on the app, I settled on either Starlight or Blood Moon. These are a beautiful mix of soft blues, purples and pinks. I was able to brighten or dim the lights whenever I wanted, but I preferred to have the Gradient Signe set to a dim level – because the brightest setting really is very bright.

The app is where the Philips Hue Gradient Signe comes to life – and it's via the app that you can set up the lamp to your requirements. In the standard case, the Philips Hue Gradient Signe is aligned to a wall and there the colours also appear washed out, so the transitions are not so hard. Nevertheless, I would recommend not selecting colours that are too far apart. A real rainbow effect like with the long lightstrips cannot be created with the short Signe. Really, though, as anyone who has used/got any sort of Philips Hue lighting will know, this paperwork isn't really needed. To get this lamp working I simply plugged it in, opened the Philips Hue app on my smartphone, and then selected the add new lights option. Once plugged in the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp can be connected to your Hue app using Bluetooth or Zigbee. Hue really comes into its own when used with a Bridge and Zigbee, so that’s the version that I went for.

Colour reproduction across the range is excellent. Some cheaper lights struggle with some colours, but not the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp. From red to yellow, and green to blue, this lamp is bright across the range. Focussing exclusively on tall, smart floor lamps, there aren’t many competing devices to choose from when it comes to the Hue Signe Floor lamp. The most notable rival is the Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp. This is also an LED floor lamp that comes with RGB options and a design very similar to the Signe. Govee has emulated many of Philips’ Hue products at notably lower prices. I use Govee’s lamp, TV strip, and lighting bars, and I like them all. Indeed, they’re not the same quality in terms of build and materials, but they do at least offer much of the same functionality, including a decent app to control multiple lights. If you want to integrate lamps into your smart home that don't support Hue bulbs, then this smart plug is the one to choose. It's easy to use, compact and unassuming; but you'll need a Hue Bridge to controlit when you're away from home. It turns out that Hue products can be connected to Bluetooth OR the Bridge; they can’t be controlled via both simultaneously. So, if you've already connected Alexa to Hue Bluetooth, disable the Philips Hue Alexa skill in the Alexa app, and then reconnect it to the Hue Bridge via the Hue app voice assistant section.

Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp 1800 lm, 16 Million

Choose from 16 million colours including warm to cool white light to create an ambiance that suits any mood. Perfect for film nights, parties, bedtime stories, or just relaxing. The Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp is similar to the Govee Lyra Floor Lamp, in that both are floor-standing lamps with gradient light strips in them. While the Govee options needed some assembling, and the finish wasn’t great, the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp comes pre-assembled in its box. Taking it out of the box, I was really blown away by the strength and quality of the design of the Signe. Our oak model has a lovely wood-toned, circular base and an otherwise-aluminum construction. It’s incredibly solid and well-built, with no blemishes or wonkiness. Hue might be the most expensive smart lighting brand on the market, but there’s no denying you’re getting premium build quality at the very least. My app wouldn’t discover the light, so I had to enter the Zigbee code. On this lamp, this is printed on the label next to the power plug, not on the lamp itself. Having used the similar but considerably less expensive Govee Lyra lamp, which ships in segments you have to assemble yourself, I was pleased to see the Signe arrives in one ready-to-go piece. That saves the hassle of having to put the thing together and makes for a sleeker look without any visible seams — both appreciated touches at this price point. Overall, it feels sturdy and not like it's liable to break if you happen to tip it over. Hueblog.de is not connected to Signify, the manufacturer of Philips Hue.
