It looks like more content than it actually is (the totally running time is about 80 minutes), but the good news is that much of what you get here is quite good. The height speakers rain down weather, electricity, explosions, debris, and screams as the heroes and villains are fighting in the air, creating a fully immersive world where the viewer is at the center. The sound effects have some great directionality and flow smoothly from one speaker to the next, especially when a webs sling or weapons fly across the screen. Michael Giacchino’s efficient score—which, given the nature of the film, references thematic cues from Danny Elfman, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer—is presented in excellent fidelity. It juggles a first act of mania following the reveal of Spider-Man's true identity, with superb aplomb, infusing comic energy into the brewing sense of desperation (the surprise cameo paralleling the similar reveal in Hawkeye wonderfully, showing the first of a succession of hints as to the boundless future of these universes), before embarking on the 'verse-shattering events that lead to an influx of old, familiar faces, on both sides of the chessboard.

Updated daily and in real-time, we track all high-def disc news and release dates, and review the latest disc titles. All in all, this is a very nice 4K image, though one can’t helping wishing that the IMAX framing had been included. Spider-Man: No Way Home comes to Blu-ray Disc from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment featuring 1080p AVC encoded video and lossless DTS-HD 5. Spider-Man: No Way Home comes to 4K Ultra HD ™ with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos in Standard and Steelbook Packages, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment UK on 4th April 2022 . Plus, depending on the movie, HDR has an affect on animation, that it doesn't seem to have on live action. The detail is sharp and vivid as well with well-defined close-ups that showcase makeup effects, CGI effects, wrinkles, individual hairs, and metallic textures in costumes. The bass again never crosses into the rocky or overbearing territory but is pitch-perfect with explosions and music crescendos. The extended battle at the Statue of Liberty in the finale benefitted from the HDR application, appearing vibrant and visually engaging. Spider-Man: No Way Home contains only a few bright daytime segments, which all appeared more vibrant and tonally gradational compared to the Blu-ray.

We reviewed the UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Spider-Man: No Way Home on an LG 55B7 Dolby Vision 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with a Panasonic DP-UB820EB-K Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player . During production of No Way Home, things became quite difficult between Sony and Disney, and it will be interesting to see how their newfound 'friendship' and desire to do a second Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy will inform the future MCU and the future Spider-Man Cinematic Universe.
