I've just tested Mugler Aura at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Unlike the much-maligned Chanel Gabrielle or the unremarkable Mon Guerlain, this is a long-awaited pillar that does NOT care about pleasing everyone and their momma. Mugler doesn't play safe, and thank god for that. Having said that, I'm pretty certain that Aura is not going to become an uber-popular, ubiquitous scent like Angel and Alien: it's more akin to Womanity, because it is rather ambivalent and polarising. I adore Aura's mild, tropical-jungle-esque far dry down, which matches the campaign perfectly. How I wish Aura would smell like this part all along! Unfortunately, the first two thirds of Aura's development on my skin is dominated by the commercial fruity vanilla, and fails to leave a strong impression like how Angel, Alien and Womanity did to me. This is exceptional ! Instant love at first sniff ! Wearing this for the past 5 days now and can’t get myself to wear anything else. Looks like a new signature is about to happen .... My husband said “you smell like a bunch of pixies hanging out in a wild strawberry bush in the forest.”

I prefer this over the original but... it must be said that the feelings they evoke are very different.

It's so addicting to smell it! At times it smells the way root beer tastes, other times it's a fresh powdery scent, and at the same time it has a camphoraceous menthol scent. In the initial spray it does have a citrus element that stings the nose with the alcohol and a tart sweetness like tart chalky candy (Sweetarts) but it goes away and becomes way softer. It doesn't really smell feminine to me but it does have a sweetness to it so it might not be exactly masculine either. I asked a few coworkers to smell it and one said it smelled like barbershop to her. I guess that kind of confirmed my belief that it seemed more masculine. I spray this on my pillows and some puff balls I had hanging in my car; I can't get enough of the scent! I am disappointed that the scent does not last long and dies down immediately and the sillage is very poor.... Maybe that's a good thing because other people might not like the way it smells. My boyfriend was okay with it it but it wasn't anything that was going to make him swoon. On my skin it dries down to a mild powdery vanilla or marshmallow scent and the root beer scent goes away. On clothes and pillows, the camphor / menthol scent is still there and sometimes smells like a very sugary spearmint chewing gum.....or maybe it smells the way the purple "Violet Flavor" Canel's gum tastes-- or maybe it was Chiclets grape flavor gum I am thinking of. When it really dies down, the scent reminds me of Matrix Biolage's "Blue Agave" Smoothing Shine Milk, but the milk has a tiny hint of coconut. Biolage has good smelling shampoos and conditioners; they have soothing scents. Their products don't have the camphor / menthol scent so if you want to experience the soothing green scent with the creamy vanilla, try Matrix Biolage's hair products. I'm quite surprised at how much I like it, though I think I underestimate just how sugary my own personality is.

Aura is one of the most beloved and recognisable of Thierry Mugler's fragrances. This particularly strong eau de parfum lasts up to 8 hours with just a few sprays. Aura belongs to the well-known series Thierry Mugler Aura. Daphne Bugey, Amandine Marie, Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne are the parfumeurs who designed this unforgettable fragrance. Warm Fragrance The bottle, however, is absolutely gorgeous. If you own the EDP or EDT, unless you absolutely love the fragrance so much to buy all the flankers, I would not bother. If you watch the trailer for the perfume the ad creates a vision of a deep rainforest that this smell truly mirrors in its entirety.

Eau Sensuelle is perfect for the heat. It's tropical green with a bright white floral boost and an underlying vanilla vibe that doesn't take away at all from the tropical feel. It's summer vanilla done right! The “wolfwood,” described by Mugler as an “animalic” vegetal substitute for wood, is animalic, peaty and opaque. This is no woody base. Instead, the base is a prominent vanilla. It isn’t quite gourmand, but a little powdery. It reminds me of the vanilla in the first Alien Goddess release, but less boring. Aura sensuelle I would recommend for those who like the original but find it too much. I will be really enjoying this flanker. Anyway, strongly attracted by this stunner of a bottle and after trying Eau Sensuelle a few times in the store I finally could carry an Aura bottle home (even if a flanker) knowing I'd be at least able to wear it, and I'm so happy!

And yet I still in principle admire the less popular Mugler scents like Womanity. So I want to like this. It’s just so freaking hard! It’s a screamo sugar bomb- but a green herbal caramel milkshake? No that sounds like barf…It’s not bad. It’s just a lot. Of sugar. So, I've sprayed it on today and a little definitely goes a long way. It is a very sweet perfume so overdoing it can be quite ghastly for others around you. As for the medicinal note that people have been pointing out, it smells a bit like a Chinese licorice root (often used in TCM) but I could just be imagining that... I really really love the Aura EDP, but it's a bit too strong for warmer weather I think. After testing the EDT and really liking it too I figured maybe the Sensuelle would be a nice fit for use during warm weather since the EDT and EDP are pretty similar and I wasn't sure if getting both would be wise. If I concentrate my attention, there is indeed an almond-like nuttiness embedded within, maybe stemming from the Tiger Liana which is described by Daphne Bugey as having vanilla, almond and smoky facets. Occasionally, a fatty, slightly sour animalic nuance can also be perceived. But they are not daring enough to provide a meaningful contrast like patchouli in Angel or aquatic spiciness in Womanity. Of all the Mugler line, Aura Eau de Parfum Sensuelle is one of the easier fragrances to wear. Despite its strong projection, I find this flanker a lot easier to fathom and the composition a lot less quirky than the original Aura. If I were to chose between the two, I would definitely choose Aura Eau de Parfum Sensuelle.

these terms and conditions in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, do It seems to be one of those perfumes which smells different to different people. For instance I get a lot of sweetness and fruits with something really aromatic that I can't put my finger on. It smells bright and fresh but it also smells airy if it's breezy and u catch a waft of it. Saying that though my sister smelt it on me and was like "omg that stinks what are you wearing its horrible" she gets the menthol and medicinal smell people have mentioned so out of curiosity I went around my family in the room one by one to see what they got from it lol .. Its longevity and silliage are outstanding performers for such an obnoxious scent. Kind of reminds me of some men, but that's a whole other subject. This makes me FEEL sensual and adorable and like a princess... It's comforting in its sweetness. It's reassuring and it definitely relaxes you in an intimate way. Where as Aura is more commanding and leading, taking charge even, Aura Sensuelle is their younger sibling who has all the time in the world to lounge about and feel good about themselves. I got a small sample yesterday cause I've been wanting to expand on my Mugler collection a little bit, since I absolutely adore Alien but couldn't quite get behind Angel and was curious to try another main Mugler creation.Aura MUGLER is a unique Ambery Floral Carnal fragrance with instinctive notes that vibrate and pulsate. It fuses floral freshness and feline sensuality. TL, DR: Eating a fruit cake made of green whipped cream (made from the Thai green ointment) and sugar-coated dried fruits in a tropical rainforest. Final Facet, a touch of musk and sandalwood. Soft, sensual and beguiling Sandalwood. As a sandalwood freak/addict, this is my favorite facet.
