Same process as the G703, get all the PCB components separated from the shell, just unscrew everything. One issue I did run into a couple of years ago was that the mouse wasn’t keeping up anymore in terms of speed. Most parts of it feel cheaply made, the scroll wheel has uneven steps, and the buttons have different pre-travel distances, which is off-putting.

I'm finding it hard to pull out good things about the MX518 that other mice can't do, as it's very much a generic mouse. The “page forward” and “page back” buttons are pretty handy, since they’re very easily accessible especially if you have them bound to a “use” or “reload” function in games. There are also three small buttons near the scroll wheel: one button to switch the active window and two buttons to change the dpi on the fly. my mouse (Logitech MX 518, not the original version but the new release - about one year old) stopped working in OpenSuse Leap 15.

There weren't any software issues encountered during testing, but users online have reported various problems trying to use Logitech G HUB, including but not limited to startup issues, freezing, and connection issues with some devices. The Logitech has a wider CPI range, a set CPI that you can adjust more precisely, and a more consistent sensor. Whereas you normally have to bring your mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen to select between active windows, or use Alt + Tab to toggle through them, pressing the task switching button brings up a list of open windows directly under your mouse pointer. There is a hope that over time of using it, it will become smoother as with original MX 518 scrolls did.

I've yet to get a (proper) mousemat for use, but I'm sure it'll become even better on a good quality one. On the other hand, the MX518 has more programmable buttons, and its curved shape feels more comfortable. Thanks Madduck - I edited my post above as my uncle told me there is a PID which is LNXXXXX, so not as many numbers as yours, but that looks to be the most likely for the serial number. Place all the components into the G518 baseplate, securing them with the McMaster screws into the inserts.

In that regard, I feel that Zowie is the successor of the classic Logitech that created mx518, G3(mx300), or the mini optical. Quote from: LinkPro on Sun, 14 December 2014, 22:01:16 I have looked at it but don't think the shape is going to work well for me.On a sidenote, I wish Logitech would stop with this G-gaming marketing rubbish and simply release a mx518 body with the G502 sensor.
